If I were to summarize the game against the Browns in one sentence, I'd say the Steelers were man-for-man better than the opposing Browns player on just about every play and that's why we won.

To illustrate my point, here are three pictures of the Browns' second series. In pics 1 and 2, we see the Browns OL double teaming at the point of attack on a running play that is starting out well. In pic 3 we see that the Steelers DL held and the front seven filled the gaps and stopped the play. The Steelers players were just plain better.

Here's what team speed does for you...and the reason for the youth movement on defense. Look at the good pursuit of Crowell especially on pic 3. IMG_4450.JPG IMG_4451.JPG IMG_4453.JPG

William Gay didn't have a good game. Thank you William Gay for your years of service, I like ya, but you gotta go. In these photos, we see he doesn't keep up with the receiver and gives up a big gain. IMG_4465.JPG IMG_4466.JPG IMG_4467.JPG

    Thanks for this!

It was pretty incredible how quick our defense looked. Though some were due to coverage, our pressure is going to be real this year.

Watt might be JUST what the doctor ordered.

And Deebo wasn't even unleashed! Bud didn't play. Lets hope Alualu...bring us a surprise in the next man up.

Steelers are gonna save Deebo as much as possible. Chick was pretty good. Watt is a star. Bud needs to freakin get healthy. With Bud and Watt on the ends, we could have a DOPY Deebo and Lamarr Woodley before he got fat duo in the making.

I can't stand the Woodley got fat narrative. Woodley was always a big dude and was off to his best season ever until he tore his hamstring off the bone. He was never the same after that.

Don't know for the life of me why Willie Gay is still on this team! Does he have something incriminating on Tomlin?

Did you not see his Ronnie Lott impressions yesterday? Gay looked like he was getting shot out of a cannon and laying wood on everyone yesterday.

Credit where credit's due, he did have a big hit. But...he can't cover my grandmother.

We started with a few WR screens. I think we'll see more of those. Our WRs in the open field are a mismatch in our favor.

Our zone coverage gives up a lot of yardage, it seems to me.

I wish I knew why Ben is less accurate in away games.

Disguised Browns blitz. Looks like a Browns blitz from Ben's left but actually is a CB blitz from the right. Nice play, Steelers.

Ben had a couple of receivers he could have thrown to. Are our plays that good, or the Browns coverage that bad?

Why are #78 and #77 on the ground? They must have just whiffed. Yikes.

Maybe he judges things better when there's more black and gold in the background.

The Steelers rushed the punter better than the Browns did.

A little worried about the pass rush. #94 Alualu is pushed so far away from the pocket that I thought he was Bud Dupree.

We're lucky that this play didn't go for a long gain. I'd like to know the coverage responsibilities on this play.

Here's that darn zone coverage again giving up a long gain. Fans will likely blame the closest Steeler (#21 Joe Haden) but no doubt he's told to play off the receivers, in a zone.
