This is not the safety I was hoping for.

    Steelers trade a 2018 sixth-round pick for former Bucs safety J.J. Wilcox and a 2019 seventh-round pick.

PFF graded Wilcox the #24 safety in the NFL last year.

    Good indeed.

Our depth is much better with someone like him. Solid Strong Safety with some serious ability to lay the wood.

I assume KC thinks he helps make the team better, personally I don't know much about him, but if it does, then essentially we traded Coates for him. Good trade

He's not the safety you were hoping for, but he's the safety you deserve

I remember when he destroyed the 2013 Senior Bowl (same time that Brandon Williams showed up on everyone's radar). PWP should love him since he's a WR to Safety convert.

Should be noted that he has experience as a KR and a S/T

He could replace Golden, push Davis for the starting position, contribute in Kick Coverage, and be a name in the hat to solve the Kick Returner question.

Everyone should cue up the video of him annihilating OBJ

The man who wants to be "the highest paid player in NFL History" has met Mr. Wilcox on more than one occassion.

Yep I like him and yes I do like converts .He adds depth for sure and may compete for starting PT as well.

That was going to be my question. They have to cut somebody today, too, don't they?

I would have preferred TJ Ward for 2017, but word is Ward is getting $5 mil from Tampa, while Wilcox has a guaranteed salary of $2.125 mil for 2017. This is a much more team friendly deal, and if he does well we have him in 2018 for a little over $3 mil. Good deal.

Probably Dangerfield, though I'm ready for Golden to move on with his life's work.

I remember that and when the Cryboys drafted him I told my buddy who was a Cryboy fan he was a good player. Not sure how he fared as I didn't watch many of their games.

The key about your post that I would love is for this to be the end of Golden.

It's going to be him or Dangerfield.

I expect that it would be Dangerfield, given that Golden has been playing in Mitchell's place all preseason. While Dangerfield was backing up Davis.

I thought we traded our 6th rounder in 2018 for Justin Gilbert
