And the Steelers will sit on their hands, as they always seem to do when there is a decent cornerback available.

That said, Haden is a big risk due to the injuries that ruined his 2016.

Just like Kony Ealy he has to go through waivers. So where ever the Steelers are on the wavers list is the shot they will have at him. I doubt he makes it to the Pats as defending champs

No... He is not going to hit waivers. He is a vet cut.... At 4pm it becomes official and he can then sign where he wants to.

And he will have many options...

Price would have to be right. Very injury prone the last few years.

I'm not sure why you cut the guy with a week to go to the 1st game. Maybe there is a business sense to it that I'm unaware of. Maybe it's the browns being the browns.

I can see why they couldn't trade him, no team was taking on that contract. No way!!!!

Reading Chiefs and Saints are front runners.

How big of a contract should we expect to see?

LOL... I was being funny but honestly......

    We should test those waters...
He still has physical tools and experience to play man and even zone. An upgrade over Ross and Mentor on and off the field for Sutton, Burns, Hilton....

Nfl network reporting that Steelers have already shown interest.

I know Drew Rosenbaum represents alot of players including several steelers. There's a relationship there.

I would think after playing with the Browns for some time, he would want to play for a winner.

Chiefs and Steelers make sense, if the money is right.

That's what I was banking on as well. Aren't the Chiefs one of the deepest teams at DB. Why would they go after him? I understand the Saints.

Things moving fast and I haven't had time to examine but honestly we may not have the money . Contract structure means everything.... Needs to be backloaded.

Was kinda of surprised he is only 28 years old. Seems like he's been around longer than that.

They're doing him a favor... He wouldn't take a pay cut and there's enough talent at CB they're better off losing that cap hit the next three years.

This way he has a chance to hook up with another team and get up to speed with them before week one reg season.

He was cut for a reason guys...

CBs die quickly when injuries sap their athletic talent

I really think his salary had alot to do with it. Declining skill plays a part but I think the cost was the big issue.

I doubt we will be the highest bidder. Does Haden want to play with a team with a legitimate SB shot?

Our FO will be active in this because they know the issues we are having in our secondary.

Didn't we just get rid of another washed up high round CB that failed in Cleveland? No thanks

Yeah and even the browns can be right sometimes. Exhibit A: Trent Richardson. However, the browns being right TWICE seems like an enormous longshot. We may want to sign him based on that alone. LOL!

The Browns had like 50 million in cap space. By cutting him they saved 4.1 million in actually payable salary/workout bonus.

They cut him because he's was absolutely terrible for 2 straight seasons...

Joe Haden is a name now. And a name can't cover the boundary.

I'd happily sign him since we have the cap space, but he'd be a lotto ticket signing. A long shot bet to return to his former glory.

    Temper your expactations boys.

True... He had a concussion that ended his 2015 season...

Two groin injuries .... He battled and tried playing.... In 2016 but had off season surgery and says it was a success and he's feeling great. He's 28 and just pass a physical.

    Still worth kicking the tires.
