I have thought last year Bortles was going to take that next step, I was right however it was a step backwards. The Jags build a very good offense around him and now all of a sudden he has forgotten how to play. Bortles has been the bright spot for the Jags when they had no talent on offense, now they have a lot of weapons and Bortles now is the weak spot.

I don't know what has happened but a change in scenery is needed there, and Henne is not the answer. Shame on the Jags to waiting until now to decide they are done with Bortles, they could have signed a guy or even drafted one. Oh well not my team so I don't care but I will say this I would welcome Bortles here in a heartbeat, jmo.

A change in scenery is not going to fix his hitch, and anybody that lives in his area and have watch him many times will tell you NO !

Well all I can say is Bortles is 25 years old been a starter for 3 years has 11,000 yds, 69 td's and 51 ints for maybe the 2nd worst team in the NFL...the Clowns the 1st. Take a guy off a bad team and put him on a good team like ours and see what happens. The kid is still young, did he look bad last year he did but imo he has talent and I would welcome here with open arms.

But one of the reason they were the second worst team was because of him. Do you know how many of his interceptions were game losing interceptions that were run back touchdowns, it seemed like every game he played.

I do not know how many but I do know that he is young and has experience. I am willing to take him on this team no problem. I also believe that when a guy plays on a bad team and then goes to o good team good things happen. At 25 there is still lots of time to be fixed and why not from a guy like Ben?

I am not saying Bortles is Brady but I not ready to put him out of the league.

I dont know NY, I think he'd be Mettenburger 2.0.

IMO the Jags have been having very good drafts and nothing changes. At some point you need to look at the QB.

Neither is Coughlin ready to put him out, after signing him to his 5th year option for 19M through 2018 he said “This is a smart business decision for the team for several reasons,” executive VP of football operations Tom Coughlin said in a statement. “It makes sense for us going forward and it’s good for Blake and for the Jaguars.”

He looked fairly decent tonight against the Panthers , but he was playing mostly 2nd and 3rd string to be fair. I watched him in the last pre season game, not good.

They totally nuked any trade value when they picked up his option. even though the 19M is guaranteed for injury only he still has a 3.5 million contract payout this year.......

You know Blast it could be or it could end up Batch 2.0 right? My thinking is show me another QB at 25 that has 3 years of starting experience and has over 11,000 yards that could end up as our back up? We have a stable organization filled with tons of talent. If he were to come here and suck than so be it but imo he is worth a look at. My hope is at worst we find a back up qb that we feel good with and at best maybe we find a bridge between Ben and the next Ben.
