Cowher always said he was a better MLB than OLB....James has dropped into the middle lots of times ...now whether they field 3 OLBs at the same time shall remain to be seen...

i see it was in there 4 man over defense. i knew they used to move jh there at times. dupree would some last year. thats pretty good if they are using tj as well. it must mean he knows this defense well and is capable.

Apparently Harrison said he was fine with a "relief pitcher" role. Man that dude just straight up loves the game.

I agree, he knows the clocks ticking and he knows how the game is played... Sure he's betting on himself in whatever fashion/reduced role and more than willing to answer the call on any given Sunday that's all you can ask and I wouldn't bet against him contributing in a higher manner than a reduced role might suggest

As long as we see him level Flacco a few more times for old times' sake it will be a successful season for him as far as I'm concerned.

There's no way, too risky knowing Bud Dupree couldn't stay healthy last year and TJ only having one preseason game under his belt.
On the field or not, he is a great asset for the team because of his leadership. Perfect player for those two young OLBs to look up to.

When he does retire, the organization should keep him on as an intern coach, just like Hines, Faneca, and Kendall Simmons, I think he would enjoy hanging around the team.

And remember, he has already made comments about playing in 2018:hmm:

Negative. His work ethic and leadership as well as he can still bring it will be needed this season. Were all hoping that Watt is the real deal but we all were hoping Jones was to. One pre season game doesn't make a career...

The chances TJ Watt and Dupree each start 16 games is probably low. Mix in the fact that Watt may hit a rookie wall, James will be called upon often.

He will have an important role to play in 2017.

He's just letting the flappers , flap their gums. He's been doubted how whole career and has answered the bell....when his time comes he will step on the field and remind the naysayers why he is The Silverback...and a man to still be feared and rightfully so....love me some JH92

I doubt they cut him. He's darn good insurance for if Watt or Dupree get hurt.

I think this is JH`s last year. Let him be a "relief pitcher" for this season. It sounds like the perfect thing to do, besides who knows what injuries are coming. It would be crazy to let him go.

I think he stays for leadership role alone. But he will also get a few snaps a game too.

Chickillo got two sacks today....I read that he will be the starter now, and Watt and Harrison will be the relief pitchers
