Landry Jones' abdominal strain may open the door for Dobbs. On second thought . . . nah.

I have no doubt that he picked Manning's brain as a college qb. Which must explain why he never won a national championship. He should have picked Tee Martin's. LOL! At least he managed to get a win against FL though.

The biggest hurdle for this kid is between the ears. I know he is book smart, but you can't teach QB instincts and having a feel where to go with the ball. We will see. Hope he has it.

Whats with the hazing? Lets lay off the new members, let them get their feet wet and get a feel for the place.

Then you can give them the PWP treatment :hehehe:

I really don't see it as hazing. They have it in their mind that Dobbs sucks. Yet when you bring good news about him they have to smart off because it doesn't fit their agenda on said player.

It's a message board with couch coaches. The ones that act this way are usually the ones that haven't played an organized sport in their life. They buy a team shirt and all the sudden they are Chuck Noll.

Nobody's agenda is that he sucks. He is a rookie with a rookie learning curve. To think one solid day of improved play out of 3 means he can unseat a guy that has four years of playbook experience is a flight of fancy. If you are looking that hard for meaning in his game you will be upset when he is holding a clipboard or not dressed for the season.

I never said he was. I said the same thing two pages back. Just bringing positive tweet about him to a thread of people on the ledge. Nothing less nothing more.

I have no personal knowledge of whether or not Dobbs sucks but it sounds lIke you might. What I know based on what I have seen in 4 years of him playing at Neyland, is that he never demonstrated NFL QB caliber skills at UT. Butch Jones offense with Dobbs has not been pass heavy and relied on Dobbs quickness and mobility so Dobbs didn't really need an accurate & strong arm. We've seen way too many ill-advised crappy passes by Dobbs where he got bailed out by his WRs and TEs. Namely Jennings, Smith, Bird, Alvin Kamara, Ethan Wolf, even Hurd. Just because you are a Vol fan doesn't make Dobbs an elite NFL prospect. Dobbs could have easily gone undrafted and nobody would have been surprised.

And BTW, why don't you enlighten all the "couch coaches" here on the message board about your experience coaching and evaluating NFL talent. Otherwise get back to your mason jar and banjo and STFU.

I am a Gamecock fan and was never that impressed by Dobbs. I am kind of surprised he got drafted. He got out of trouble with his feet but would float a lot of passes. He had some good WRs that helped him out. For Pittsburgh I hope he makes it. I just think it will be a huge drop off from Ben to him even when he has been here a couple of years.
