    Brady is very well protected from his offensive line and the officials. He still has another half decade of playing time and more than like a couple more Lombardi's ahead of him.

    Man that last part was hard for me to type.:sick:

    Belicheat will be there so long as Gooddell is running the league. Kraft will see to that.

    Sounds like as long as he line is good Ben will be around. Or at least that's what he said yesterday.

    Disagree... Brady has another 5 years left. Easily. 2014-2016 was the window for the Steelers to win Lombardi #3 during the Ben era. The window has shut.

    45 years old and playing professional football? You're out of your mind.

    These guys are athletes, their bodies finely tuned machines but no one beats father time.

    2 years tops. Wouldnt be surprised if he walks away after this one. Wouldn't be surprised if he even gets hurt this season.

    George Blanda is the oldest QB to ever retire, and had the longest career playing in the NFL, he retired at age 48 after a 26 year career and he did both playing QB and kicking field goals, he was a QB for 21 years, brady will have to get him some Geritol to play longer than Blanda...

    hahaha what a troll. The Steelers had no defense then. The defense is finally up to par. As long as Ben doesn't retire the window is wide open. Other than Ben and Foster this team is young. Like do you even believe half the stuff you say?

    The oldest man to throw an NFL TD pass was Blanda age 47 in '74
    The 2nd oldest was also Blanda at 45.

    44 yr olds who threw TD passes: Vinny Testaverde (5 in '07), Blanda (4), Steve Deberg (3 in '98), Warren Moon (1 in '00)

    43 yr olds: Blanda (6), Vinnie (1)

    42 yr olds: Moon (11), Blanda (2), Vinnie, Flutie and Earl Morrall - one each

    41 yr olds: Moon (25), Vinnie (17), Favre(11), Flutie (9), Blanda (6), Morrall (3)

    40 yr olds: Favre (33), Jurgenson (11), Matt Hasselback (9), Moon (7), Vinnie (7), Vince Evans (6), Len Dawson(5), Zeke Bratkowski (4)

    See how fast the window shuts between 40 and 42.

    I wouldn't be surprised if Brady matches or even out does the best seasons ever by age as he plays in his 40s. But even if he does, by age 42 , he'll be lucky to be better than a middling starting QB

    I dunno, man. I'm not an expert on all of those guys' offenses, but:

    1. Brady doesn't play "Ben Ball", trying to make something from nothing and taking hits like BB, Favre and the like;

    2. Brady doesn't hold the ball very long;

    3. Brady crumples at the first hint of contact; and

    4. I've never seem a QB more protected by the officials-- they'll call roughing the passer if a butterfly farts in Brady's backfield.

    My point in this, no one, in the history of the league has thrown for more than 11 TDs at age 42 or older. If Brady throws for 20 at age 42 - for all the reasons you give - he'll have had the greatest yr in history by far for an old QB, but will have a so-so season by NFL starting QB standards. There are great HOF QBs on this list: Moon,Favre, Dawson, Jurgenson. They all have one thing in common - at 42 they were a fraction of what they were at 40. All your comments re Brady, apply to Peyton Manning too. And the fade was still pretty fast for him. I actually have a huge amont of respect for Brady, but as good as he is, he won't be immune from degrading athleticism.

    Defense is up to par? Yeah right. What the hell are you smoking? Maybe against the Bengals and Ravens, but not against teams with top 5 QBs/offenses... like Packers, Patriots, Seahawks and Falcons. Let's see how they do vs. Packers and Patriots this year (if Rodgers and Brady are starting). The defense hasn't been Super Bowl caliber since 2010 and the offense is too inconsistent when it matters.

    Exactly but the window was open when the defense was even worse than it is now? I expect big things from the defense this year. You could see it down the stretch last year. Jesus they won a playoff game without scoring a TD. Having Dupree a full season is huge. It's not by coincidence that when he got healthy and comfortable our defense really turned it up.

    I hope you're right and I'm wrong. I will gladly eat crow, but I don't think the Steelers are stout enough in the secondary yet for a Super Bowl run. The better offenses will exploit the weaknesses in the D and TJ Watt is still a year or two out from excellence. Can't expect a rookie to transform an entire defense. I hope Watt turns out to be another Kendrell Bell (without injuries) and makes the Pro Bowl as a rookie. But I wouldn't bet on it.

    The worst were the calls in the SB.. down 28-3... Brady 3rd and a lot'ish three times in a row throws incomplete.. refs throw three flags in a row for first downs.. that's besides the protection.. talk about wearing out a defense to start a 2nd half rally...

    He has taken too much punishment over the years. Why is he even getting touched? I believe this is his last year.

    I don't think Watt alone will but the 3 rookies from last year and healthy Dupree will.

    Sorry to bust your narrative, but this is what ACTUALLY happened. Brady got 3 def holding calls on the late Q2 drive that ended with the pick six that put NE down 21-0. They were all on 3rd down, 3rd and 10, 3rd and 3 , and 3rd and 9. But I'm pretty sure those calls didn't wear out the D or spark the 2nd half rally, since NE managed to fall even further behind in Q3.

    The zebras didn't give Tom Terrific much other help. ATL has 2 other def penalties in the game. An offside on one of the 2pt conversions that got enforced on the KO, and the Def PI in OT when Ne was already deep in ATL territory.

    Matty Ice got a Def PI on Butler on 3rd down that led to the ATL TD that put them up 28-3. So it went the other way too.

    If this is Brady's last year, you heard it here first! Pats unusually aggressive with free agents and contracts, Gronk's contract gets expensive the next two years none of which is guaranteed, Brady already can't throw the long ball anymore, his bullcrap claim of wanting to play 5 more years is disinformation.
