I think Bell should sign his contract and prove he can stay healthy for 16games and then ask for a major contract but until then Mike Tomlin better sign deangelo cuz he is the man or we are in trouble

LOL! Yeah sign DWill because if ANYone has proven they can stay healthy for a 16 game season it's him. I love DWill but just sayin'.

They drafted Conner in case Bell goes down or leaves ...I would rather pay the DB position intead of the RB position..Behind a great OL almost ant RB could do well...

DWill is gone man, we drafted a RB in the 3rd round which sealed his fate. Only way your seeing him is if we get decimated by injuries at RB and he is still unsigned. Hope that isn't the case.

I to appreciated what D Will brought, he is a gamer. But it's over, he isn't healthy. Connor will see the field and be in the mix. Bell needs to be healthy hopefully for the stretch. This team is now poised for a run for #7. If Bryant can stay away from the bong this Offense will be deadly. And I feel the Defense has made some improvements but the jury is still out. The test will be at home against the Pats who i'm sure we will see in the post season again.

So mostly agree; any body could run "well". Bell is different than any back in the league though. No one has the same running style. I say without Bell our Super Bowl odds drop significantly. He is not my favorite player on the team by any means. I don't think he is as big of a "team guy" as he needs to be. I don't know how durable he is (the amount of carries need to drop). I don't know how reliable he is off the field. All that being said I think we need him to have a really good chance at winning the big game. Don't get me wrong we would still have a chance with out him. I think he will get his long term deal this year because giving him the money next year (if he proves himself) would be nearly impossible as we need to sign Tuitt and Villanueva. Unless we sign those two extensions this year and try Bell next. You are certainly right on the DB position, but I feel like we are decent enough to get the job done. It would have been nice to pick a top tear FA at corner, but it sounds like the rookies are doing pretty well at OTA's and mini camp.

You make excellent points and Bell is a Special RB with a unique skill set that's for sure..He is a bit selfish and has some off the field problems and some health concerns ...I guess is that package worth a 13 Mil or so a year deal at the RB position ?

I don't doubt bell's ability just his durability he is a selfish player and that doesn't work on a team deangelo is healthy and available if we don't have him the offense will be in trouble you can't put your trust in a rookie like Conner he is not proven yet out offense is room complex for him to master mini camp means nothing regular season will be the test Mike Tomlin will make a major mistake if he doesn't get deangelo we will be a passing offense only and that doesn't work cuz bell will go down again

DWill is training for a July wrestling match:

For the next few weeks, free agent running back DeAngelo Williams will be busy preparing for a tag team match at Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary XV pay-per-view on July 2 in Orlando, Fla.

Love DWill but he's gone. Bell is a solid RB but it isn't his running style that makes him, it's his receiving and rte running. But there are so many issues.

Bell wants to be paid!! He deserves it. He wants to be the NFL highest Paid RB!! He probably deserves it!!

The Petersen Effect!!! The Fran Tag is worth 12.2 mil guaranteed but the NFL highest paid player is McCoy at 8 mil per season. Is Bell worth 8 mil per with his history and skill set ? I say yes. How about 10? This is most likely where the FO is at But Bell is probably thinking 15 like his song but would settle for 12 per yr ( the LaMar Woodley effect).

No way Bell makes more than AB... We have other key guys to sign and Bells Tag is in the way. I hope he doesn't sign and we rescind the tag.

I think Bell is over rated. He's the Best receiving RB in the league and a solid runner but he isn't a break away threat anymore. He is slow due to injurys, runs with a slight limp and is currently rehabbing after another surgery..... He's damaged goods. Still has value and top value but not Historic Value!!!

He only played in 12 games and still had 1,268 rushing yards for 7TDs and 616 yards receiving for 2 TDs, then he led the league in rushing in the playoffs with 357 yards and 2 TDs for a 5.5 average thats 1,625 yards in 14 games not counting the pats game because he just made a brief appearance in that game for 20 yards, had he played in the first 4 games he had a shot at a 2,000 rushing yard season, not bad for someone you claim has a limp...........

I stand by what I said.... The good, the bad & the ugly!!!

I hope you recorded the games so you can go back and watch him run. He has Great vision, waits on a top 3 OL to set him up and runs smart. I believe if not for our OL he'd be slightly above avg..... Not in the same league as Adrian Petersen.

I guess you think he earned on his own all those numbers and deserve 15 mil per year!!!!

Not 13 Mil. maybe 11. The longer and longer the process is taking I feel like he may play under the tag this year.

Not trying to be argumentative, but I do not recall any situations where Bell came off as selfish. Could you offer some examples?

Driving around smoking weed is rather selfish. Not to mention it following through with the conditions of his probation for lack of a better term.

I suppose that could be considered selfish. Although that was two years ago. He stayed on the straight and narrow all last year. I'd be inclined to put that behind him.

For an infraction he committed during the offseason. After which he has done nothing but what has been asked of him, including yeoman's work in the last half of the season and the playoffs.

Nothing really just a gut feeling mostly ..He just seems to be more of a me than a we guy IMO...Not enough to not pay him though ...But with the Cap, some position group has to be the bargain group, to me that group should be the RB group...

While I would like it to be that Le'Veon's career continues in Pittsburgh, keep in mind he has yet to play a full season.

Add the fact that running backs have the shortest career of any position and that just adds further salt to the wound.

Anything else that is, has been or will be detrimental just adds more leverage to Pittsburgh; all the more reason James Conner is seriously feeling more and more like deja vu circa 2015.

Actually he played a full season last year, the league allocated him 12 games and he played in all of them!!!

I'm fine with leveon playing his entire career here. As long as it doesn't run past the 2019 season if not sooner.

They have until july 15 to sign him, which has been extended until the 17th due to the 15th being a saturday, so if they dont sign him long term by 4 eastern time 17th they cant talk contract until the off season, so if they dont sign him by the 17th who knows if he remains here after this season or not???
