    My wife prefers "portly".

But, according to her, I'm fat.

P.s. The cat belongs to the dog. The dog was a stray and brought the cat with him.

Cautiously optimistic :) Even though starters have not been decided and we are not even to training camp i think we are a better team then last year and the only thing stopping us will be ourselves and the Patriots. If we can stay injury free or at least minimize the severity and number of injuries I give us a good chance.

Pessimistic. Just like any year in the AFC North, there are 3 teams that could win the division and no gaurantees. Unlike the Patriots who have ZERO competition in their division and 6 easy wins to contribute to their gauranteed 12 or more wins. Teams like Denver, KC, Oakland and Houston will improve this year. Ravens will be better, too. 9-7 would not surprise me. Worse than 9-7 would not surprise me. The Steelers are overrated and overhyped. Steelers have become the Cowboys of the '00's decade.

Well... a lot of what I say is "truth." Not opinions. Since when in the past 10 years have the Ravens and Bengals laid down and died for the Steelers like the Jets, Dolphins and Bills do every year for the Patriots? Until Brady is retired, there is no other team in the AFC East that can even compete. This is a huge disadvantage for the Steelers and other AFC teams when it comes to playoff seedings. The Steelers don't have the D to make a 6th seed run like they did in '05... and the offense is not consistent enough in the playoffs to get to the Super Bowl.

The coaches admitted they tried man coverage in the first half .

    Here's how I see it:
Have we improved on offense somewhat. We all know Ben isn't playing 16 games. He is a warrior but nobody beats Father Time. We practice hard in pre season so injuries will be part of it. Defense is a little better but isn't good enough to keep us in the game against top tier teams. The defensive will improve but I think we are a couple of years away. Can we beat New England, sure that's why we play the game. It will be a fun year and we will win some games. I do think when we play Oakland or New England we are going to have a hard time winning. Oh well I'll cheer for our team no matter what.

how can you say the defense can't keep us in a game? we should be much improved. first off cam heyward will be on the field, which we didn't have last year for much of the season. two starting rookies are no longer rookies. tyson alualu will be far better than a PS player we were down to at one point. we have added at least 5 DB's to the mix. allen, sutton, sensabaugh, stafford, golson. dupree back for a full season. young LB'ers more seasoned, healthy, plus some new additions. this will be a far different defense than what you are talking about from last year. on the offensive side we have added weapons we didn't have also. quite a different team this year.
