Had high hopes when we picked him up that he would be able to supplant Landry Jones.

No surprise there. Every report I read, said he was very unimpressive.

Apparently he didn't do anything in practice to warrant a chance.

Bummer. Would've liked to have seen what he could do with a decent oline and some offensive weapons. Watch the Patriots pick him up and turn him into a third round draft pick.

    With Blast. No surprise there.

Next up? For my money, it would have to be Anthony Chickillo. T.J. Watt alone boosts his chances of getting cut but the addition of Keion Adams and the veteran necessity of Arthur Moats seems to point in this direction.

Doesn't Chickillo have a way higher ceiling then moats?

If for no other reason than he is 5 years younger.

He does. No doubt for certain.

However, as it stands, Moats is a proven commodity for situational roles such as rush defense. Chickillo had that oppurtunity and relinquished it. Chickillo can hold the edge but the drafting of both Adams and Watt means someone has to go.

Watt will take the place vacated by Jarvis Jones and Keion Adams goes on the PS. No way Chickilo gets cut. If they cut anyone, it would be Moats imo. Chickilo will be in year 3. I don't see how Moats offers more.

I think they will save around 2 million if they cut Moats.

Chickillo got hurt. I don't recall him relinquishing any role until his ankle was injured. I think Moats is the logical cut unless the coaches think he can back up VW at the Buck.

DHB, Moats, mccullers, golden seem likely to me. saves about 4.25 mil.

    dupree, watt, chickillo, adams, harrison

    shazier, VW, matakevich, johnson, fort

    tuitt, heyward, alualu, hargraves, walton

burns, cockrell, golson, sensibaugh, sutton, could be a number of players.

davis, mitchell, allen?, gay? could be a number of players.

What really sucks about this is that Dobbs is known for accuracy problems and yet Zach didn't throw a single pick in his tenure as a Steeler but they cut him in favor of a guy with accuracy problems? Just makes no sense. Oh. Wait. You mean Zach didn't throw a single PASS either? Well then that totally changes things... LOL! However, if I'm him I will probably be telling my grandkids that in my time as a Steeler I never threw a pick. Sounds better and TECHNICALLY is true. LOL!

I think Tomlin likes Golden personally though and might keep him around just for that reason. Seems like we always have a few vet presences on the team that are sorta sentimental favorites for Tomlin and I would say Golden matches that bill more than most of those guys. Although DHB is good on ST so that can give him an edge there.

I think Golden is safe unless we dip into post-draft free agency for another safety.

The reason for cutting mett early was to give more pre season playing time to Dobbs to find out what his strong/weak points are so they can work on them, besides they wasnt going to keep 4 QBs anyway....
