There's another report of he is waiting for his physical. If he is healthy and back to form he instantly upgrades our DBs. He's certainly better than Gay.

 

This could make things interesting. 2 years ago it was who they could play at cb, this year it may be who are they going to cut.

 

Was so mad when he left. Loved the upside and thought he was a solid player. Was mad that he just had his mind made he wanted out because I feel like he would have been a very solid and unappreciated corner in this league of he stayed here. Hope he is good to go because if he is back to form this is huge. Should have made a play for some dB help early in this draft.

Yep, why in the hell did we not pick a corner instead of backup QB or instead of the LS who we could get after the draft.

 

I think if we were interested in him we wouldn't have draft 2 CB's right?

 

Yeah if he thought coming in he'd be treated like a number 1 and given all that goes with it I think he was sadly mistaken in where he was and when he was. If the interest wasn't there when he tried after getting cut I don't think it would increase after a year away.

yea, but I still think this is our week spot. I think like we did a few years back when we didnt have a good offensive line, we kept drafting offensive linemen high until we got it right. Im a believer that Tomlin and Colbert are week in drafting DB, and that the more sh-t you throw at the wall the more it will stick and we will eventually have better DBs just from shear numbers. I would rather draft 2 more DBs to have to choose from, more then a backup QB and LS who we could get without using a draft pick.

 

Obviously, Lewis has something to prove, given he was cut. Could he replace Cockrell?
