Official 2017 NFL Draft Thread

So out of five picks in this draft three have been on offense in a draft that was loaded on defense, yeah this makes sense Colbert has lost it. You aren't beating New England with a draft like this, that's for damn sure.

 

My disappointment stems from the fact that I see us as one or two plays from Super Bowl 7 with a HOF QB whose window is closing and we keep drafting offensive players that don't help us this season imo.

And personally it's not just the positions of WR and QB being drafted that I hate, I also don't particularly like drafting slow WRs and project QBs

 

I still wouldn't mind drafting Butt and hoping he heals up ok.

 

If dobbs can win games when ben is healing he is worth it. Landry is done.

 

blount can back me up. living here you get tired of hearing about dobbs. bottom line is I knew we would get him because of his pro day. tomlin fell in love with him. the kid is probably character wise the best in draft. I have seen him at his camp let kids who couldn't pay stay and work with them after the day was over. I have seen him stand in 1 spot and sign hundreds of autographs and ask every ones name. the does love the game and got better. the kid took a beating behind this oline. watch the Alabama and Oklahoma games.

he is worth a 4th round pick all day. he will sit behind ben a year or 2 because I really think ben will not play 4 more years. looking at it that way. great pick

 

In this case, they have done worse. They have drafted Josh Dobbs. LOL! All the other picks I'm fine with but after hearing this dude hated on for years and knowing how mediocre UT is it just sucks thinking that he might be considered Ben's replacement. I don't know if anyone on here can honestly say with a straight face that he's a future franchise quarterback. If they are thinking he's gonna be a franchise qb that's my problem with the pick. Otherwise, I'm fine with it but will still get ragged hard about it.

 

At least Prescott helped the Cowboys in his rookie season, the Steelers are in a win now mode. Dobbs is a project who won't matter for 2-3 years.

 

Anybody drafted in the 3rd or 4th round isn't helping us beat the Patriots this year or next. Especially on defense.

 

I'm glad to hear this. By all accounts he is a good kid who's highly intelligent.

 

Yep. Great dude. Awesome dude. Just not a franchise qb in my opinion. If they're looking at him as Ben's replacement it won't be long until we're drafting a qb in the first round. You think he's our next franchise qb?

 

So you'd be mad if we traded that 4th round pick for Dak Prescott?

I would so love that. I hope Josh Dobbs becomes the next Terry Bradshaw.

 

Exactly not sure what we need on defense. Next two picks will hopefully be defense depth and it will be a great draft.

 

They got Hargrave in the 3rd last season, so you can still find help on defense in the mid rounds.

 

But Landry also won some games when Ben was hurt.

It would be funny if an O Lineman went on Twitter and eloquently joked about Dobbs replacing Ben.

 

Wow the Giants fans must be livid lol.

 

I would like a double dip at OLB and maybe an ILB prospect. But we'll see who is available...
