Agree. I changed to ESPN late, and was better of with doofy Mel Kiper than the NFL Network Steelers neglect.

The most awkward crap of the night IMO was Eisen raising the death of Foreman's daughter. My wife was floored saying "why did he bring that up? OMG!"

Wish I could see the NFL Draft via Watch ESPN. Sadly, much of their content seems to be behind a paywall if I recall.

I give them a grade of D, not happy with the picks of Conner too early for him and JuJu.

Been saying for years, cuz I've been hearing it for years. Doesn't matter one bit when you take the person if you like them and think they will contribute then you do it no matter what others say.

    It's your board alone.

Yeah, I'm sure Tomlin has had enough of social media.

    I was not.

A tough, gritty, possession receiver is what is needed for this team. Having another reliable third down target not named Jesse James increases the likelihood of moving the chains.

If I hear or read the word character one more time I'm gonna throw up...character is great if the talent is there first. I wanna win football games man...1 and 3 i can get onboard with. But WR and Conner way before we could of got him...smh. If Bell goes down once again we're going home...we took a bruising short yardage back that won't see the field in short yardage...

People think there's a "spot" everyone needs to be taken. If some draft site (or they themselves) have them pegged as a 3rd rounder, then they get mad about drafting that guy in the second... even thought they'd be gone at their next pick. Or they hate someone at pick 30 but all the sudden it's "good value at pick 38 with an added 5th rounder.

It's a tendency for everyone. People over value picks and undervalue players. We obviously had Conner rated where we drafted him.

Our last two "reaches" in Burns and Davis both had a solid rookie year. Let's give these guys a chance to play before we start assessing "value"

The thing about Wheaton to me is that it just never seemed that he could develop a chemistry with Ben. I think he could be a really good player for a team that has a qb for him to click with.

They will probably waste a fourth round pick on a QB

More specifically players on his team no less. There are exceptions but there are no rules either.

How do you know we could've gotten him at our next pick?

It wasn't shocking, given the way the board fell (with the huge run on DBs), they did the right thing, taking a WR that adds another element immediately to the offense, while getting Sutton in the 3rd

But man... that Josh jones pick right in front of us is going to sting for awhile.

And passing on a jourdan Lewis is going to come back to haunt

The draft is a crapshoot. Ryan Leaf was considered "can't miss" and Tom Brady was taken when the pats didn't really have anything better to do. You never know who is "right" or "wrong" until they get on the field.

Was juju hurt this year, RPO? 1400 yards last year only 900 this year? Everything I'm reading says he's slow out of his breaks and can't get separation. Was he dinged this year or was Kessler the difference at QB?

I want to like him it just seems like a reach at first glance.

Guess I'm one of the few, but I like all 4 picks. If we get Keion Adams, Corn Elder or Rashawn Jenkins on day 3, I'm loving it.

ILB Anthony Walker, DT Jaleel Johnson (Hargrave clone), TE Michael Roberts, Kittle, ILB Steven Taylor all still available for 4-7

    Priority UDFAs:
    Javancy Jones ILB
    Dwayne Thomas CB
    Ethan Cooper OL
    Samson Ebukam OLB

Wheaton was a deep speed receiver trapped inside a slot receivers body.

JuJu has size and grit with an edge to him that this team has lacked since Hines Ward. Not saying he is the next one but I am stating that such players are still valuable in todays game.

If anything, JuJu offers that versatility Tomlin seems to love indirectly by allowing himself to become more of a target in the slot; possibly freeing up the likes of Jesse, Martavis, Brown or even Bell should he see the field... scratch that..

    when he does.

I agree. Lots of guys who should see some time early on. Watt should get some rotation with Harrison, more so as the year wears on. I think JuJu is gonna have a chance to start (AB in slot a lot, we have no other possession types). Sutton will compete for an open job at slot CB. Conner will get carries in relief of bell.

Josh Jones not being selected definitley caught my attention as well.

He can fit that hybrid role but I suppose having an indirect contingency plan for LaDarius Green comes first.

Thing is with us though if AB and Bryant are on the field they draw enough attention that it won't be like teams will be committing to JuJu and trying to jam the crap out of him. AB and MB will create space for him theoretically I guess.

I thought it was a good pick, maybe a touch early but Tomlin loves the kid. I don't see any negatives tbh
