This post will mean nothing if you don't go on to start several other threads with similar themes, posting once and then disappearing out of all of them.

I love the Bye week right in the middle of the schedule. Kind of surprised that the Christmas game would be against the Texans. That just doesn't seem like an engaging match up from a TV perspective.

I believe the Ravens are coming off a London game for this.

This is the year we focus and stop playing down to lesser teams. 14-2 with all home playoff games.

I'm thinking 12-4. Can't believe the consecutive prime time games.

At this time of year it seems dull. But if they have the #1 defense by Christmas day and a rookie QB thats doing just decent enough at that time to be talked about then the networks will definitely sell it up.

Winning the SB won't mean anything if we lose to the Patriots!

    Sour grapes here.

I don't like the times. I go to the games and I start work early. I'm also a grump. Just ask my wife.

Night games mean one of three things: If it's a home game, I have to take a vacation day the next day, away game and I'm a zombie the next day. I forgot what the third thing was.

In my miopic world, home games at 1:00 away games at 4:30.

Well, I see a plus. At least we have an easy first game against the Brownies.

I hate tough first games because we are usually not ready to bring our A game.

Do the steelers have one of the easiest schedules?

    From around the NFL:

    Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers are one of the few teams that elicited an immediate "wow" after my initial view of the 2017 schedule. Of any team, Pittsburgh has one of the best chances of heading into its bye week (Nov. 5) undefeated, thanks to a schedule that breaks quite nicely. The Steelers start the year on the road against Cleveland before a difficult home opener vs. the Vikings. After that? The Bears, the Ravens in Baltimore a week after they return from London, the Jaguars, the Chiefs, the Bengals and the Lions. Of course there are going to be some challenges there -- the Vikings at home, a road game against Kansas City -- but arguably Pittsburgh's hardest game against the division-rival Ravens comes when the team is just barely getting back on EST. The Steelers also finish the season against the Texans and Browns, which is advantageous in any sort of tight divisional scenario.

Side note: I love this guys optimism about us being 8-0 going into our bye week, but that wouldnt be the steelers we all know and like, 5-3 maybe 6-2 but 8-0 never happen....

I'm with you on this, the next day at work can be brutal after a prime time game. If I could make the schedule they would all be 1:00 start times.

Nice! Let them deal with that travel schedule. I hope Suggs' hotel room is right next to Big Ben and the chimes drive him crazy.

Didn't we get flexed out of a primetime game last season?

I know this has been said, but I'll reiterate.

    Week 15 = loss

Yes on December 18 2016 the steelers/bengals game was flexed out of the sunday night slot and they substituted tampa/dallas in the prime slot mainly because the bengals had a 5-7-1 record in week 14 and of course the league just loves dallas....

All of you people who are picking 12 or more wins are on some serious meth.

Steelers will **** the bed against the Bears and Titans.. like they did last year vs. Dolphins and Eagles.

I saw the Bears and Titans games... and immediately thought these are the games the Steelers are very good at losing. Crappy inferior teams who will "get after" the Steelers... as Tomlin has said.

It depends if they play well on the road the first half of this season since 5 of their first 8 games are road games, if they win 5 games in this stretch they have a chance at winning 5 or 6 of their last 8 games since 5 of those games will be home games, and yet the schedule will be harder for them with the titans, packers, rats and yes, the patriots, only plus is all of those games are at home but still against good teams......

But Pollyanna says losing to the Pats will mean nothing if we win the SB! (assuming that loss is in Dec and not Jan ;))

Yeah because you've been so accurate with all your negativity. What did You have them winning last year? 8 games? Maybe? You sure as heck didn't have them making the playoffs and would have bet your life savings they never would have been in the Championship game.

They went 11-5 last year with all the obstacles but can't win 12 games this season? Somebody is on meth alright.

If Ben stays healthy, anything less than 12-4 will be a disappointment.
    Go Steelers.

11-5 and played one good half vs. the Dolphins in the playoffs. The rest was sub-par and disapointing. Only Field Goals vs. the Chiefs and the Steelers didn't come close to competing with the Patriots. Texans and Falcons played the Patriots much better than the Steelers did. Steelers are going nowhere unless Tom Brady and Bill Belichick allow them to by losing to another team besides the Steelers in the playoffs.
