Apparently you can't be in an Arm Wrestling competition at a Casino without pissing off Goodell.

Nothing here, no gambling involved with team betting, players are free to spend their off time at a casino if they wish, goodell is going to have his hands full snooping around when the raider players are living in Vegas....

Thats good, send a team to play in Vegas and then throw a hissy fit when players in the offseason go to a casino.

On a side note, JH arms, good Lord

Not that I am on the NFLs side, but I guess the players cannot have promotional events in casinos due to the gambling aspect without prior approval by the NFL. So basically the NFL is pissed they didn't get a slice of the pie probably.

I think our old friend Lamar Woodley was the "manager" for one team. Thought I saw he is doing some car conversion show too. Didn't pay much attention though.

They bend their rules when big money is involved:

The Raiders’ stadium will be in the shadows of Mandalay Bay and some other mega-casinos on the south end of the Las Vegas Strip. Yet, the NFL took a detour around its morals when Nevada came through with $750 million in taxpayer money for the Raiders’ new stadium. Funny how that works.

And yet the tax money in Nevada comes directly from Casinos since they dont have an income tax in Nevada.........

I was gonna start a thread about this myself. This just sounds so ridiculous. I just wonder if any of these guys are trying to save their son by arm wrestling? It has happened before... I saw a fantastic movie about it once. Then about a hundred times after that. James Harrison would make a great Hawk.

Yeah I saw him on that car show once too. I think he like fixes up cars that are themed to the person's favorite team or something.

Maybe he should focus on players that have been suspended a full year and are 4 months into waiting for an answer.

Crazy rule but don't you think the players' agents set this up and had to know about the "no casino clause" and the stink it would cause? Something tells me this was a way to hype the broadcast next month even more.

I may be on the minority side, but I understand the NFL's logic.

Lamar Woodley appeared on chopped this past week, and he got chopped in the first round, he needs cooking lessons :smiley1:

Getting back on subject, Casino gambling in Vegas is LEGAL, can they make rules that restricts use of a legal product? As well, with a team located in Vegas now brings a whole lot of pressure on their gambling policies, for example the visiting teams will be staying at Casino Hotels, if they think players can resist going down to the gaming tables and slots when it's only an elevator ride away is a hypothesis. I think they have a headache in the making, their gambling rules need to be revised since they will be sending visiting teams to the casinos, and trying to regulate human nature never works out well....

Not unlike firing up a bong when playing the Broncos or Rams in their States where hooch is now legal, but.............NFL rules supersede local allowable behavior and vices.

LOL. Nothing to see here. Just Gooddell putting another check mark on his "How can I harass JH list". If it were Brady involved, he'd be claiming that it was for some made up charity event.
