    Sdot...

I am not they're little brother, I'm just a fan of this team... Born into it. Don't like everything they do or have done and will inevitably do... No fan of any team can say it different. Everyone bitches and everyone appreciates... Every season on different scales and for differing reasons. The whole "us" thing gets funnier the older I get, I used to be one of those guys and try to consciously refrain from using that term. We are their fans, they are our preferred team but I am not gonna fool myself into thinking that there is any "us" in any of them.

Outside of a very appreciative few, there is no yearn to carry the torch much less pass it on in many of today's athletes. Sure everyone wants to win... Like the Pats idiot TE said..."looking foreward to free agency, everyone over pays for a Super Bowl champ". These fools aren't the prideful bunch that stayed together and were family like the old days, too many me me guys and the league isn't set up for it to be that "old glory days talk" way anymore. It's a me me society and the league and its players union have embraced it.

All that said, Ben told the truth like it or not. My feeling is it was said more in the sense of firing up his boys than it was to piss you, me, us off. It was meant for his team, his organization... And he was honest. The Pats own them so why sugar coat it? Tell it how it is and maybe that'll get a fire burning in some of their guts. After all, if there is anything old school or new that remains constant... It would be that nobody likes to be referred to as anyone's *****!

Don't have a comment for that... Steelers might not be the HQ's preferred choice, but the league depends on their fan base year in and year out. The league's ratings and revenue would've been higher with the black n gold in the dance bottom line wether they like it or not. History errs on stalwart franchises and the Steelers are top 3 bar none one of the most appreciated and followed teams in the league's history.

I literally said the exact same thing about the hold last night. Then the kid that was trying to justify saying the game was "rigged" then tried to say that the Harrison call was actually bad and that apparently that game was rigged too. LOL!!! Oh the wormhole of paranoia and delusion.

It's a call that can go either way. Harrisons was a lot worse as well.

True,Falcons did choke, but the question is,did they simply run out of gas or they were told to stop playing...the only way I can see this game being rigged is that Falcons simply just stopped playing in the 2nd half because they were instructed to do so,but we will never know.

I can guarantee you that if someone told 22 players (or more) to stop playing in the SuperBowl. You would know. It might a year or so maybe..but you would eventually know.

Only big names are in on it like Peyton and Brady basically the QBs why don't you think Matt Ryan audibled into a run? The coordinators control the games. Why do you think Kyle can blow the Super Bowl in front of the world and still get a HC job?

I think some players who aren't in on it and suspect it, just retire. IE why like 5 players on the 49ers retired after they had to hand Ravens/Ray Lewis a Super Bowl. It's why Lynch retired. Got to be hard to tell yourself to go put your body on the line for something that will eventually be decided by a storyline.

If you really truly believe that...then why bother watching? Or just be extremely happy the Steelers are the favorites of NFL and they were deemed worthy to win 6 rings along the way....Here I thought the Seahawks, and Cardinals were just whiners...Turns out they were right all along...the games are fixed and the Steelers are the little darlings of the NFL and always get all the calls.

I don't think the games are rigged, but I do think there is very little hope in competing with the Patriots until Brady retires. Next year, they will have Gronk back and their AFC East rivals will offer up no effective resistance as usual. New England will rack up at least 13 wins and the #1 seed... yet again.

Opening day in '17 will probably be a re-match of the AFC Championship game.

Steelers will lose in efficient fashion... not because they are a bad team, but because they don't (and will not) have personnel on defense to compete with the Patriots and the offense is not nearly as consistent as it should be.

For the first time ever as a Steelers fan, I am not looking forward to the next season. Even after our most horrific, devastating losses against the Chargers in '95, Cowboys in '96, Patriots in '02 and '05, Packers in '11 and Tebow in '12... I was always optimistic about the following year. Not this year. Not a lot to look forward to.

I don't think it really became a thing until Goodell took over. He's all about making as much money as possible. Our first 4 Super Bowls we were just flat out better than everybody kind of like we are now but we've been getting screwed for years. #5 yeah maybe we benefited from some bad calls but they happen all the time. They tried screwing us in #6 but we overcame and then the Packers Super Bowl. We've been getting screwed by bad officiating for years now.

Better yet, if you really believe this, and you know it's rigged and who it's rigged for: mortgage the house, Max out the credit cards, borrow ever nickel you can from friends and relatives and get filthy rich betting games in Vegas with your superior knowledge. You can post I-told-you-so threads next off season from poolside of your palacial Carribean estate! Maybe even post a picture of all the bikini clad young lovelies in your haram. You've cracked the NFL code, the rest of us sheep have not. Profit from it!!

So you are saying its Goodell and 31 other owners....against the Steelers. They all cheat...while the Steelers over come? Just so I understand...what was the Falcons benefit of laying down? What did they get besides the obvious going down in history as the biggest choke in Super Bowl history? Better yet...what are the Browns getting for being the worst team in the league the better part of the last decade? What ever it is...its not enough.

Falcons had to lose as the final payment for the new stadium.

Goodell got Lebron back for Cleveland in return of their sacrifice.

I thought the raiders have been the most penalized team since going back to the 80's and have been tops consistently..if we are talking about teams getting screwed by officiating.

Browns are just an all around bad organization. I'm sure there's politics involved as well. I doubt all owners are in on it. Browns owner gets to make million while owning a team some people care about. Some teams have that allure where their fanbase knows they suck and watch to see them suck.

I'd love to see since around 2010. Funny you bring up the Raiders because that was the game that really opened my eyes like 3 years ago. Coincidence we aren't allowed to beat the Raiders? I remember that game like yesterday they called like 5 holdings on us kickoffs and called back an AB punt return.

Notice how they are always calling holds on us on special teams? I've noticed that's one way they control games. With the new kickoff rules Belichick will kick and make them run it because the stats say they won't get to the 25. So don't tell me an extra 10 yards 3 times a game and pinning us at the 10 or 15 or whatever it is doesn't impact the game. We haven't run a kickoff back in YEARS. You think the coaches would just say, just stay in front of them and don't do any grabbing. Was there one hold on kickoffs or punts on the Patriots all playoffs? I doubt it. Let me guess, Belichick is such a good coach, he coaches them up to play the cleanest football game ever lol yeah okay. Holdings on kickoffs, can be called at any time and notice how they never show the replays. It's just accepted like oh they must have held them.

They don't show kickoff replays because they're rushing to sell us pickup trucks we'll buy with extra funds from our wise money management, then drive to get our Wrangler jeans, beer and Cialis.

Fist you are boycotting the Superbowl which you obviously watched. Then you are done with the NFL which you obviously aren't. I'd say it's a sure bet that you will be watching the draft.:wizard:

The defense def ran out of gas...but even then Shanahan the moron passes when if the ran and field goal Falcons win!

Born and raised in Pa and always a Steelers fan...but living in Atl for 23 yrs they have become my NFC team ( if they played eachother I'm def Pitt)

Falcons loss hurt just as bad cuz they had it if Shanahan wasn't already in SF for that whole week!

The Pats are good. Real good. Sure, they are in a weak division, but they beat the good team when it counts in the big games. If they were in a stronger division, they would surely have more difficulty getting to the playoffs every year, but the fact remains they win the big games on a regular basis. I think Ben is going to retire after this year. Sure he had solid stats this year, but he played some uninspired football and just seemed disconnected from the play on the field. His best days are easily behind him - not only has he lost his passion for the game, he basically has a shadow his former athleticism. His body has been beaten to a pulp, and the team has a ton of issues. The Steelers, talent-wise are a spectacular squad - but that is it, they don't seem to play as a "team" and support each other on the field consistently. I just did not get that vibe I usually get during the season this year. It may be me, but I think it is pretty obvious if one merely reflects on the season.
