WHY would Roger also allow the PATS of ALL PEOPLE to win it this year?! I mean it is just so dumb to even suggest it. LOL! Like if Roger wanted it rigged I think the pats might be the LAST team he'd want to rig it for. He's actually humiliated tonight.

The games not fixed, ridiculous. Why not call a penalty on the pick six, then?

Without Atlantas defense vanishing, no amount nudging in the world would make up that deficit, why take the chance of letting the game get that out of hand if they are trying to control the outcome.

    Theres no fix.

And if the Falcons don't take a 12 yd sack when they were in FG range and just run it instead (averaging 5.8 yds per rush), they would have been up by 10.

Yeah I mean honestly the Super Bowl is more for fickle people that pretty much never watch actual football but tune in for things other than an actual interest in the actual game like commercials and the HT show and honestly a lot of them probably changed the channel during that big lead or just went to bed. The funny thing is that Brady is basically the Inigo Montoya of sports and is always motivated by vengeance and you know that more than anything he wanted to spit in the eye of Roger tonight. That might have been more satisfying to him than actually winning. There's just no way Roger wanted that to happen tonight.

Anyone that's in business, pretty much a lot of shady stuff happens wheres theres a lot of money involved, a team winning 28-3 with a half left doesn't lose, really they don't unless there is some help from somewhere, cmon trust yourselfs, Julio Jones was a catch, so was Edelmans I believe in those, and yes I believe someone if everyone was in on it would spill the beans, what I don't believe in is, things that are to good to be true, and teams that are in the super bowl are generally good and when they are winning by 25 with a quarter and half left they don't lose. It cant be possible that every team in the NFL, and every coach in the NFL is so stupid to do all these things that keep happening for the [Patriots to win, I just don't believe it, their story sells more for whatever reason , people will talk about Bradys 5 th and belivhecks smarts more than Quinn and Ryan simple as that, that equals more money for NFL, so they use their ref cronnies to do what they need to do get kt, if you don't please do

Or if the Falcons had run the play clock every snap to 2-3 seconds instead of snapping it with more than 20 seconds several times, the Pats may have run out of time (or at least been forced to take more chances).

That's assuming they make it though. With as much of a meltdown as they seemed to be in it might even be highly probable that they would have missed it. There are always gonna be ifs, ands, and buts, in games like these.

Really - NFL ratings were down this year and I'll bet they go down again next year. People outside of NE are sick of them.

I'd take my chances with a 30-39 yard FG to win a super bowl - Bryant is 90.6% on those in his career. He was also 56/57 on XPs this year.

Yeah I'm not saying I wouldn't have wanted to kick it. I'm just saying that it's not TOTALLY guaranteed that it goes in. Especially when the whole team had pretty much entered choke mode.

Yeah I can honestly say that I didn't even watch hardly any of the coverage leading up to this one and honestly had that "Meh. It's just NE again" sort of feeling about this game. It turned out to be a great game though and that's good for the league.

Well but at the same time there was a moment in this game where it was literally a 0% chance the pats won. There are just always gonna be intangibles in games that we can never be able to truly predict the outcome. That's honestly what makes sports great to me.

I watched zero pregame, zero postgame and nothing all week. I turned the game off once the Falcons threw the incomplete pass on 3rd down at 28-20 and bet my son $50 (sarcastically) that the Pats would win. I didn't see the tying score or any of overtime.

I have zero interest in the Steelers next year right now, because unless someone beats the Pats for them - they're too dumb to do it themselves. So why bother watching them play for 2nd place in the AFC? Is that a bandwagon fan? Maybe, but I just find it's not enjoyable when you know the outcome (good or bad).

Intangibles isn't the other teams stupidity. It's the bounce of a ball, like Tyree's helmet catch or a FG that bounces off an upright in or out. It's not shooting yourself in the foot.

Sorry I still am not buying the game is rigged.

If that was the case, why didn't the refs call Tight End Hooper from Atlanta for holding with his TD catch? Even Troy Aikman pointed it out. That entire TD could have been called back.

Or did they have it planned that they would eventually start making bad calls in the other direction?

I think people are giving way too much credit to others. No way a conspiracy so huge would go without someone talking. People are not that perfect to design these types of things.

Here's the review of the game. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...r-by-quarter-breakdown-of-patriots-vs-falcons

One can point a finger at the refs for pass interference calls. Were they valid? I haven't found a vid to review it to see if they were valid yet.

"It's actually a bit puzzling the Falcons didn't simply run the ball inside field-goal range. They could have drained a lot more clock and added to their lead. They failed."

This statement made in the link says it all I think. The falcons did a terrible job managing the clock. I think really they are the culprit mostly behind this loss. They got caught sleeping at the wheel, and the Patriots capitalized.

The Patriots are a good team. A lot of people don't like them. Us Steeler fans have seen them routinely beat us over more than a decade, which sucks.

I can't imagine the Atlanta coaches were in on the conspiracy, but then again maybe the Illuminati promised the Atlanta coach his own little Island somewhere in the Caribbean with supermodel servants during halftime. anything is possible.

I laugh at people who say the NFL is fixed. Please show me evidence of this. On 1 drive the Pats got 3 first downs off of holding calls, that were legit! I don't recall a flag in the final quarter helping the Patriots. As with any conspiracy, use your common sense. How many people would be necessary to fix any game, but especially the Super Bowl? With ALL those people in the "know", nobody has said a word? Nobody has leaked anything? Seattle fans swear Super Bowl XL was "rigged" for the Steelers, do you believe that? Chiefs fans say the league wanted the Steelers to win so they called that holding on the 2 point conversion. Do you think that was rigged?

It's just silly to think something with this many moving parts could be rigged. With the Falcons up 28-3 in the 3rd quarter, there was very little they could do to help the Pats. The Pats started making plays, and the Falcons started celebrating a Super Bowl early. VS Brady and BB thats just stupid football. Even so, did the refs tell the Falcons to throw the ball when they were on the 20, up by 8 with under 4 minutes left? Or tell the Seahawks to run the ball from the 1?

Think about the personalities in the NFL. You really think a mouth like Brown would stay quiet?

    1) the game is/was not rigged.

    2) I guess Meathead Rob Lowe was the better option after all

It is not rigged. It is frustrating at times but not rigged.

Besides the real story is that once Atlanta got such a huge lead Shanahan started his new job with the niners

I know what you mean. I've had than NFL Sunday ticket the last 2 seasons. I may drop it.

A comeback like that defies all rational logic if you saw that game from the beginning. NO WAY do the Pats shut down ATL at the level they did ! When the "most logical" explanation for it is that the game was fixed, then it probably was fixed ! Especially from a team already known as the used car salesmen of the league.

I've been around the boxing game all my life and I've seen fights get fixed with my own two eyes too many times, so I know FOR A FACT it does go on.
The NBA refs got caught red handed a few yrs back
The Pats, Belichik, and Brady have ALREADY been fined and suspended in that order...

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck... well, you know the rest

The game may not be rigged. However, the refs can influence games to make calls or non calls in an attempt to make the point spreads closer.

Guys I know it sucks to find out things are not what they seem, like when you first find out Santa isn't real, marriage kinda sucks after awhile(just joking lol) but if you think that the NFL isn't rigged you are crazy, everyone here makes it seem like Roger Goodell wouldn't want to give Brady the trophy that would be weird, dude its a soap opera in which Goodell gets paid 43 million $ a year to do, do you think he gives a rats ass, understand me 43 million a year, no doubt the players are athletes and they play, they are all employees they do what they are told, with the exception I'm sure of a few like Brady,Manning types who are in on it,its easy you have a few coaches in on it, for example Belicheck could have the Falcons game plan beforehand, Matt Ryan thinks hes playing but New Englands defense has gotten the right call at the right time, same with Brady, if he knows what the defense is gonna do ,its like a lot easier for him, theres no way I can believe with the level of talent the Patriots have on that team they can be that good, other than Gronk their players are well below average, Tom Brady a very non athletic QB, whogranted looks good and smart but is he really, he doesn't seem as gifted as Aaron Rodgers for example, RB Blount ,a fat average nothing special back up, Chris Hogan , a white wr who got cut by 5 teams, Amendola ditto Hogan, Edelman is ok but not Julio Jones , AB type of wr, Martelles Bennett a career back up whos been on 5 teams, same with there oline no all pros there, the defense the same a bunch of no name guys, I believe the league is so close in talent level probably on all 32 teams, and a few holding calls here , a few pass interference calls there could make Cleveland Browns a good team, hence that's why Carolina goes from 15-1 to 5-11, and cowboys from 4-12 to 13-3, the NFL ia about what sells, its a business not a sport anymore, and we are getting dooped into believe that, theres no way that a bunch of guys on a message board would know what to do if your team is up 28-3 with one quarter left in the Super Bowl, and a coordinator who just got paid millions to coach the 49ers doesn't, do ou really believe that, Its not possible, its a great story Brady comes from behind yadayadayada, OPEN YOUR EYES, and I don't have a tin foil cap on, I was a stupid ass crazy Steeler fan who hasn't missed a play since 1985 but I finally have put the pieces together
