I like the fact that he's calling stuff pre snap. Tomlin has said that he's a smart guy and this supports that.

 

I thought he has been one of the most consistent part of this defense all year long!!!!!!!!

Watching these videos was definitely interesting.

Off topic a bit, but the Chiefs, down 8, had the ball on the 25 yard line at 6 minutes. Seems to me, their strategy was to put all their eggs into the score plus 2 point conversion. Then hold on for overtime. Had they ran a quicker paced offense, they likely could've ran all the same plays and left a minute or two more on the clock. Had they done so, Steelers would've needed more than on first down to seal the game. Had they made the two points, they still left the Steelers plenty of time. They kicked 3 field goals in the Packers-Cowboys game in that amount of time. So my point is, had they tied it up, they were going to leave the Steelers time, they should've hurried up to give themselves time on the back end.

Thanks for the response. I agree, in this game. When the weak link can be pointed out, it's usually in a game that was lost, IMO.

 

He does get turned around a lot, BUT he leads the team in pass deflections.

 

He is smart and he does the best he can physically...He is just not good enough IMO....We will see what he is really made of Sunday...If he gets spun around a bunch again this Sunday he will get torched..

We've been seeing what he's made of all year. He's good.

 

I chalk it up to some fans not knowing what "good" is, within particular schemes and calls.

For example, the 3rd and 20, Cockrell executed, Smith made a great timing throw. You can hate the deep cover 3 call. By you can't really fault Cockrell for anything other than possibly complaining that he's not a Patrick Peterson level athlete... but the lack
of super star traits does not equal "not good enough".
