A drop is a drop and all WR'S make them even the great ones like AB ,but the high ball towards the help not knowing where the help is,expecting it to the other side, with a clear memory of getting knocked out last post season ?Not on AB that's the QB'S job to place the ball to protect the player..Ben did not and AB chose to hand stab it instead of extend because of the circumstances and the ball placement...Plus 1 for AB...We need him to live to fight another day...

AB said he should have had it but was thinking about what he was going to do after he caught it. Said he needs to reinforce fundamentals, secure the football first.

    There goes your argument.

Man this **** isn't that hard to understand.
It wasn't a perfect throw, but it wasn't a terrible throw either. The ball hit him in the hands and he dropped it.
I'm not going to try and figure out whether or not AB was thinking about a hit from last year. What we do know is what AB said. He lost concentration thinking about what he was going to do after the catch.

You go ahead and make stuff up to make yourself feel better.
For a guy who claims he knows football you sure have a hard time understanding it.

    Devil's advocate here but couldn't:
"he lost concentration thinking about what he was going to do after the catch" also include in the thought process - "how do I protect myself after extending to make this catch on a high pass"? These guys know they are in a vulnerable spot trying to high-point a ball. Just saying that YAC isn't the only thing on a WRs mind when they are making a catch.

Exactly ...This is my stance..He was not looking where to run ,he was looking for the hit....What do people expect him to say about the catch ? If he tells the truth he makes Ben look bad and he makes himself look a bit scared to some...The WR always says it's his fault because he wants the QB to keep looking his way ....

LOL, yeah, ok. Like he was super extended. You guys are reaching more than AB had to for that catch.

He took his eyes off the ball, every receiver does it. Nothing more to it than that.

Just going by what AB said. Anything else is speculation.

As stated above of course he does ...I watched AB'S eyes look for the DB instead of look the ball in, he is not going to admit that straight out...As I stated AB did the right thing during the play and is saying the right things after the play ...Ben knows he made a bad throw no matter what you hear come from AB ...

Just watched the replay and yes he was not "super" extended. Thought he was more so when watching it live, I hadn't seen it since then. Looked more like he spun in midair trying to catch and also to see where the defenders were or where to run. 2 defenders were closing but they were not real close by NFL standards.

probably nothing more than Ben running forward which would contribute to high passes and AB84 losing focus. Looking at it more, I would even say the choice between throwing to Eli and AB was 50/50.

I too worry about what I believe to be the decline of Bens accurate passing ability. Maybe it's the young receivers not running correct routes or something like that ? My opinion of this team, the Steelers do well when Ben does well. What bothers me more is our special teams. They are horrible or close to horrible as you care to be.

He was thinking about what he was going to do for a trifecta twerk.

Ben looked pretty damn good in the first half. The issue of his struggles when he gets a big lead early is a mystery to me. Steelers have a habit of really dialing it down. I am not a fan of that. Even when Cowher use to do it back in the day it used to drive me nuts. It happens to the best of them, it isn't just the Steelers. The Patriots a week early had a big lead on the Dolphins and Matt Moore and the Dolphins made a run. NFL seriously is any given Sunday, any given half, any given minute sport now. All you can wish for is the win and no major injuries to your best players.

Also, someone mentioned if that knee injury isn't allowing him to planet well enough to throw the way he wants? Well, that second TD pass to AB does not happen if he isn't bulls-eye accurate. None the less, I do think Ben needs to start throwing the ball away more. Someone needs to tell him if he doesn't, his career gets cut short a couple years. And this team is one more impressive draft away from having the veteran leadership, young talent and experience to make another 4 year run. Big Ben needs to know that doesn't happen if he needs to retire before he should.
