Badly. Never liked him coming out of college, way over drafted.

Agree with Hodge, 6th rd talent at best.

Come on, man! He won the Heismann Trophy!

Tebow did too, but he got like 5 chances. Manziel is a way better passer.

Hey, this is what separates me from the rest of the GM's in the game - I THINK AHEAD.

We are going to have a lot of money available this year, even after signing Bell and Extending AB.

I would sign about 4 very intriguing UFA's for ................

Darren McFadden RB Dallas. This dude has game, but he has Duce Staley Syndrome, but if Bell goes down for a month, this guy can be awesome. We could get him for 1 million a year.

Devon Still NT Texans. I loved this guy at Penn State, his daughter fought for her life his first couple years in the league and he under-performed, but I'd take a chance on this dude, he could be a pickup with Bettis and Greene impact as a FA. I'd offer him 4 years 2.5 million per.

Captain Munnerlyn CB Vikings. If Justin Gilbert doesn't work out, this guy would do nicely. 3 years at 10 million total.

Johnny Manziel QB UFA, 3 years at 1 million per.

If you know math, I'm talking about getting 4 guys who could make the team and cost 8 million a year for the group..
If you know football, you know you could improve the team, for less than we pay Pouncey now per year.

AND DON'T THINK THAT I WOULDN'T TAKE A SHOT AT DONTARI POE, NT, KANSAS CITY. WATCH THE GAME SUNDAY TO FIND OUT WHY.

I'd rather just have Landry come back for 1 year. Maybe we attept at drafting a quality future back up this year later rounds. Because they are saying next years draft is the one with the better QB's, maybe take one in the first round to groom as Bens replacement

why?! at the first sign of trouble, send him packing. The boy is signing autographs for a living right now. He has a college degree, he can figure his next chance is his last chance.

I agree that there are some very good pro-ready QB's out there the next 2 years, maybe 10! but there are 32 teams, and they all are thinking QB.
Ben, Brady, Brees, Eli, and Rivers will be gone over the next 5 years.

The best UFA backup QB out there is Geno Smith, everybody is gonna be taking chances on a couple nice crops of QB's.

I think if Manziel gets his head right, we could be talking the next Joe Montana.

Rooney's would never go for it. I wouldn't mind Geno Smith or Tebow though.

Yeah, he's just not an NFL quarterback, guru.

Too small, can't make all the throws, and can't get past the second read in his progressions. In the pros even defensive ends and OLB can run 4.6 or better so he just can't make the plays outside the pocket that he did in college.

Plus by all accounts he's a jerk to go along with all his other off the field issues. I don't think he ever gets another shot at the NFL to be honest.

He is Vick and Brees height, as well as Montana, and Montana body type.
He can and has made all the throws. He is slippery and mobile.

He got the Heisman and the BMOC mentality set in, but he appears to get it now.
It can't hurt to work him out and sit him down and talk to him.
He just turned 24 a couple weeks ago, and he has another 15 years if he keeps his self right.
I'd sign him and have a look. You can cut him with the stroke of a pen.

That's like saying he is a communication arts major because he can deftly maneuver a mirror between the jail bars to talk to the guy in the next cell.

    This whole notion is fantastical.

And doubtful Fitzpatrick is going to get 10-12mil/yr. Guys like 34 or so. I would like him as a backup but not at that price.

Manziel may be a good candidate for a 3rd remake of "the longest yard" or maybe a reality show version of it.Burt Reynolds will be proud

Hell no.. Dude is an a@@hole and cannot compete at the pro level. He won the Heisman because he is a college football player not an NFL QB. I would like to see him on the other side of the line and have Bud or Shazier crush him though.. Now that would be worth seeing.

hell I just realized he is serious.

the dude is done. how in the hell are you thinking we should go get a guy off the street? who hasn't played in years and sucked when he did. Charlie ward won the Heisman too and he played in the nba.lol that award quit meaning anything 25 years ago.
you like to say you think ahead or outside the box? might want to pull that thinking in alittle or someone will have you committed

To be fair, focusing on the potential that a guy had 3-odd years ago, when reality has since proved them to be a complete disaster, isn't really "thinking ahead".
