Gerry Dulac said on NFL Network the play where Ben supposedly injured his ankle was NOT an audible from Ben but that it was absolutely a "called pass play" and "came from the top". He was meaning that Tomlin called it. He said that it was supposed to be a drag route to Ayers but he got caught up running it too shallow and forced Ben to extend the play. He also said that Ben is absolutely expected to be fine. Is he a reputable source?

Did it force Ben to extend the play? Or was he told if it's not there right away throw it away...there's probably quite a few scenarios we will hear about. The bottom line is it was stupid all the way around and we can only hope they learned something from it....highly doubt it but" I'm saying there's a chance"

score was 30-12. If you dont trust Landry jones to hold an 18 pt lead for one quarter then he shouldnt be on the team.

I think Dulac is one of the more reputable sources in the Pittsburgh media.

I started to ask if you could do that, but I thought you might be too busy traveling to and fro checking on who's naughty and nice and all. ;)

Nah, don't worry about it. I wasn't really sure I was going to leave it up there anyway. Thanks anyway and I'll definitely keep that in mind if I run across a gif in the future that I need to shrink. :smiley1:

Basically the only thing he has going for him is he knows the playbook. Which means he has nothing going for him because anybody can learn the playbook with several yrs in the system.

Ben said Haley called the pass play and a "young receiver ran the wrong route".

I know Tomlin said it. He did it to take responsibility, because as the head coach, he takes responsibility. Now, maybe he did call the play. If it works, they get a first down and run out the clock. Instead, the worst possible scenario occurs, Ben both throws an interception and gets hurt. Tomlin took responsibility, which in my view makes his coaches want to coach for him and players want to play for him.
