We've been absolutely snake bit with injuries the last few years around this time. I remember 11 in the wild card loss to Denver. The whole defense was dropping like flies.

I'll never forget I started doing shots of whiskey before the game. I just knew we were going to bring down Tebowmania before it began lol. Then it happened.

The 11 team was considered to be the worst 12-4 team ever lol.

This game still pisses me off. Ike "Swaggin' U" Taylor couldn't hold his own in OT. Ever hear about this or notice this? Pretty coincidental and kind've cool, not going to lie.

Believe me, I am not innocent of railing against the team and their coaches for losing to seemingly inferior opponents.. TBH, I am quite sick of it, but on the other hand I look where we are and I like where we sit. I think the peaks and valleys do better for the team's mindset than going thru the schedule 16-0. They learn this and that, things that cannot be taught in practice or given in speeches. Granted, New England's regular season record is to be admired, but I'll be damned if think their path is easier. Sometimes they face no hardships in the regular season. Pittsburgh has gone through some tough games, some of that is on them to be sure, but I like the moxie of this group as opposed to some team who relies too much on their glory boy to pull them through. Eff the Cheatriots. I wanna see JH92 slam the bone marrow out of Brady's neck on 3rd and long. I hope we go to their house and tell them to go outside and pick a switch off the tree.

First time ever to have Ben, Bell and AB in a playoff game. Ever. Believe it or not.

I think the 2011 injuries were worse than just the 5 defensive starters. I seem to recall missing at least 1 offensive lineman going in, and another going down during the game. That team redefined snake bit. But hey - it was mostly Cowher's players who were hurt, so there ya go....

I guess he shouldn't strive for more then in your opinion. I think one more can put to rest some of the critisizims he gets as a NFL coach.

Yeah because so many teams have more than that right? These are all NFL players. Look at the Bengals.

Who said anything about striving for more?
You said prove everyone wrong, I say he already has.
I say the criticism is mostly unwarranted.

My view of Tomlin as a quality NFL coach is a lot different from yours. So it is something you and I wont agree to anytime soon.

You seem to get upset easily so I'm not going to say anymore. So in response to your post I will just say : ok

Here is an excerpt from wikipedia .. Incidentally I never knew this .. Thanks for sharing

Denver lost their last 3 games by an average of 16 points leading up to the 3:16 game. After the game media sources noted Tebow's passing yards (316) and yards per completion (31.6) evoked the Bible's John 3:16.The only interception of the game was thrown by Ben Roethlisberger on 3rd down and 16. Pittsburgh's time of possession was 31 minutes 6 second.[3] The Nielsen ratings for the game also peaked at 31.6. John 3:16 was the top search item on Google the next morning.[4][5]

Tebow's connection to 3:16 started during his college football career exactly three years prior, to the day. Tebow frequently wore references to biblical verses on his eye black.[6] In the 2009 BCS Championship Game, he wore John 3:16 on his eye black; the verse was the highest-ranked Google search term over the next 24 hours, generating over 90 million searches.[7] In 2010 a new rule for the next NCAA football season banned messages on eye paint. This rule was dubbed "The Tebow Rule" by media because it would have affected him.[8]

    Who's getting upset?
You said Tomlin has a chance to prove everyone wrong. I say his record speaks for itself and he already has proved them wrong. A lot of the criticisms are unwarranted in my opinion.

Tomlin should always strive to be better. Not sure how you're getting that I think he
    shouldn't?

Really your original post should have read " Tomlin's chance to prove them more wrong "

Cowherd is a tool. But their are some that think the way he does. And I won't argue one way or another. So the time is now to shut up the critics. Only time will tell. Starts against Miami...

I could go both ways with this argument and I could see both sides but the one thing that I keep thinking is what coward also said. " I think bellicheck would go undefeated every year if they had bell , brown ben and that offensive line" That line kind of makes me think.........

In Tomlin's defense.... who besides the Patriots have been good, year in and year out, since 2007... or even 2001? The Packers? I remember Favre going 4-12 one year in that span before Rodgers took over. The Giants? They had some horrific seasons WITH Coughlin and Eli Manning. The Seahawks? They were bottom feeders between the Holmgren and Carrol years. The Broncos? Had some down years between Jake Plummer and Peyton Manning. How many head coaches have the Broncos had since Tomlin has been coach of the Steelers?

Looking back on the 8-8 2012 and 2013 seasons... the Steelers had a franchise QB, BUT... they also had Isaac Redman and Jonithan Dwyer at RB along with an aging defense that was shedding talent quicker than the draft could replace. The Steelers have done a good job of rebuilding the team after the Super Bowl players of the '05 and '08 seasons left or retired in mass exodus.

A lot of that credit needs to go to Colbert, the scouting department, and Rooney for peicing together competive rosters year in and year out. IMO our staff is one of the best in the league.

I have a 30 min ride to and from work everyday and in the afternoon I always listen to Kirwan, imo he is the best in the business. What I like about him is he isn't one of these guys who just shoots off at the mouth, he talks the problem out and then tells it like it is respectfully. He is incredibly knowledgeable and don't let emotion take over. He has a very high opinion of Tomlin and the things he has done here.

One thing I want to point out as people including myself talk about Tomlin is. How do you think the Eagles are feeling now watching Reid in the playoffs? The Eagles were sick of Him not getting it done so they let him walk and how have they been since? My point is this Tomlin has gotten us to the playoffs 7 out of 10 seasons.....no matter what that is good. Everything after that needs to wait till the offseason as I feel that is the time for that we are starting our run this weekend for #7, that is what I want to worry about.

As far as Cowherd goes he is a bandwagon jumper and it is pretty easy to talk about other teams when all you do is root for winners. He was in love with USC, Yanks, Seahawks all when they were winning....and of course the Pats. He even admits it, I stopped listening to him cause I don't want to hear that crap, jmo.

I'm actually hoping that Clowney and the Texans give him a good beating for us.
