My son said to me last light that if we just beat the Patriots in the playoffs he will be happy. I asked him what about the Superbowl? He told me that it would just be cool to see them go to it.

Needless to say, I want perfection more than he does. I believe he will be like I am when it comes to the Steelers winning some day sooner than later.

Sure, the Steelers currently have a 7 game winning streak but unless that turns to 11 games most of us will be extremely disappointed. Participation trophies don't give you bragging rights. JMHO.

 

as soon as we get happy, they throw in a clunker. We gotta be hard on em to keep em on their toes.

I am a realist. Not a pessimist. Sometimes i'm an optimist. I haven't missed a game since I don't know when. This board is here to vent. I believe most are fans of the Steelers here. We all have our opinions. If all are opinions were the same, they would be no need for this forum. And how boring would that be? I have deep opinions on the state of the team, the coaching staff, the zebras at ALL times. I don't give a rats @ss about any other team, and comparisons like what if you were a clowns fan ect really turn me off. Sorry, I don't have Black and Gold pom poms. Those are reserved for others.

Here's to hoping they beat Miami...because that's the only game that matters now....

 

Hey, you work your butt off all week for peanuts. You gotta deal with your womans hormones or whatever they are. You go play golf on saturday and shank drives, hit every sand trap, miss easy putts and break perfectly new putters. Your teenage daughter is sexting. Your teenage son tries to sneak in after curfew, smelling like beer. The Steelers stink the place out on sunday.

I'll take a Super Bowl win even if all our opponents qbs were hurt and some questionable calls were made, over steamrolling pats and then losing in the bowl.

I pretty much agree with you, but this is a battle that will never be won.
It's aggravating when you feel your fellow teammates (fans)aren't all in.
I relate these type of fans to the "locker room cancer"type players. Buzz kill fans that drag everyone around them down.
Some people are so afraid of getting let down that they go negative so they don't get emotionally invested, that way there's no grieving process should we lose.
The supportive fans hate these type of fans cause they feel like they're only around for the victory parade.

The good thing about this is it's only a handful of people.

That dude must have been super-negative. I do, on occassion, brag about our recent draft picks... Hargrave, Burns and Davis. I'm not all doom and gloom. Just realistic about our chances.

Not true.
I just think some people are way outside what defines supporting your team.
I don't think everyone should think and feel exactly like me.
There's a line and some fans are falling well below it.
