One of my fondest memories as a kid was going to get a root beer float with my dad.

 

BFT, do yourself a favor and try some vanilla ice cream in a glass with Canada Dry ginger ale poured over it. Best float ever! My grandpa used to make them all the time.

JEH I went into a hamberger joint with the old time jute box. Greesy onion rings. Wife said lets split a root beer float. Went to order saw they were $9.00 small float. I paid the bill and said lets go. Stopped at Big Lots, got a 1 dollar quart bottle of Dad's root beer. Went down the street on the way home, pulled into a hy 55 old time joint. Got a pint of Ice Cream for $2.50. Went home and had floats. four of them for $3.50
