Yeah, yeah, I get thay it is outside the context of yesterday's "starters". And I agree with the change for performance reasons. But both Dak and Ben came in to replace an injured starter who was clearly the incumbent and not in jeopardy of losing the job due to poor performance. In both cases, we know the incumbent didn't get their job back after recovering from the injury.

There was a lot of debate early on about what to do when Maddox came back just like in Dallas this year with Dak & Romo. Both guys seized the opportunity and made their mark. However, if either had come in and lost 5 in a row or 10 in a row, they wouldn't have remained the starter.

Most of the time, a backup gets a start because of an injury and it really is up to him to perform and get the job. With the steelers injuries this year, we have other starters who played themsleves into job but had the opportunity because of an injury.

I'd still like to know at what point you considered Ben the starter at QB after the Maddox injury. Was it the Miami game in week 3? Because if it was, your argument holds no water.

So happy to be able to see the team play again next week in the playoffs to have at least a chance to move towards a championship
feeling pretty good about our chances to take out Miami and move on

I basically just consider them a starter when PWP deems them to be so.
