I'd still rather face Oakland. They looked pathetic today.

No doubt - but when people blame/curse the Raiders or Chargers for not winning today - take care of your own business is all I'm saying.

I'm not going to argue with you all night.
This is what we have to work with. At this point all that other stuff is meaningless.
If you wanna be the guy who bitches about everything and tells everyone how bad we are and don't have a chance go for it.

I know this much, when I look back 5-10 years from now on that Ravens game and I'm reminiscing about how great a game it was I won't be the guy who was calling for a gutting of the team and the guy who complained about my team throughout the whole game to everyone.

Keep on trying to convince everyone how bad we are.

it did, and the injuries that we had early in the year (especially Ben) were a big factor in some of those losses that have kept us from getting a bye.

You're the only one arguing. I didn't invite you into the thread nor did I call you out. You don't like what I have to say, don't read it and don't comment on it.

    Otherwise drop it.

I'll end this - if you're so confident and such a great and all knowing fan - put up or shut up.

$1000, heck $5000 on the Steelers winning the SB.

As I've said to you before, if you want to be completely optimistic. Go ahead, I'll take realistic. I'll still root for them, but I see the shortcomings and what needs to be fixed.

Ok, I'll bite. What "needs to be fixed," and how does the brass go about it?

The steelers are good and we have a lot of blossoming young talent. Only thing we really need is an edge rusher. Imagine if Jamie Collins would sign with us next year. Running the ball is our strength. We can go in places like KC and NE and win those games if we can control the clock. Bell is the best back in the NFL and he's in midsession form even with the amount of touches he's had This team can do it, get ready folks.

Honestly... we could've been #1 seed and been blowing out teams 56-3 every game.

    still doesnt guarantee a ring.

I'm not a Tomlin guy. His performance vs sub .500 teams (particularly on the road) is troubling. I also think they take too many penalties that are related to discipline (or the lack of). I think they've fixed the offense line well with the hiring of Munchak (like when they had Russ Grimm). I think they need to bring in more guys like that for the entire staff.

They have a HOF QB (who is nearing the end of his prime), with possibly they best WR and best RB. The fact they have 1 playoff win in 6 years is absurd. I don't have strong feelings on Butler either way, but as an organization, they either need to go back to the 3-4 scheme and draft as such (dominant NT (Hampton) and athletic ends (A. Smith) or change strategies. Tomlin was a DB coach coming up and the Steeler secondary has been pretty bad the past few years. Is it scheme or coaching? We've watched games like Dallas too often the past 3-4 years. Clearly their drafting hasn't been good for years (look at the DBs over Tomlin's tenure - Joe Burnett, Keenan Lewis, Crezdon Butler, Curtis Brown, Cortez Allen, Thomas) not to mention guys like Dri Archer in R3, Chris Rainey.

If he's in the room for draft discussions (which I've read and heard said by Pittsburgh media), then he owns those decisions.

Clearly they're not replacing what they've had, which is why guys like Harrison are still playing and excel. Love that guy, but he's 38. At some point, you have to replace. Tomlin's had a HOF QB for his entire tenure - you've got to do more with that. Those guys don't come along every year.

AB is awesome, but he's double and triple teamed - why because people say there is no 2nd WR. Once again, look at the drafts and discipline. Wheaton, Bryant, Coates. I think Tomlin was around for Sweed and Wallace drafts too.

So they need to change the draft strategy, IMO.

Here's what I know and it's all based on stats

It's easier to get to the SB with a 1st round bye. It doesn't guarantee it, but it helps. Losing games you should win more often than not, generally hurt long term. Every team gets 16 weeks to take care of their own business and if they do that, they don't need to hope for help elsewhere.

Past performance doesn't guarantee future success, but there's a reason past performance is tracked and not just in sports but in just about everything in life.

It's also easy to sit on the sidelines and comment afterwards or comment on other people's opinion rather than having one of your own. Of course, opinions are like ***holes, everyone has one and most of the time they are full of s***.

Doesn't mean I'm right, but only 1 team finishes where they want at the end of the year. Everyone else is essentially a loser. If that's not the attitude, then acceptance of losing becomes okay. The goal is to win the whole thing. Doesn't matter if it's sports or your job. Personally, I set the expectation as high as possible. In general, the higher the expectation, the higher the result. Maybe you have different expectations. That's your right.

There are 6 teams that have won the SB as a wildcard. Were they and their coaches not great? One of those good/not great teams and their coach beat a previously unbeaten team in the SB, Coughlin will probably end up in the HOF. So will Eli. Another "good" coach won as a 6th seed in Detroit. Said coach and his QB will, no doubt end up in Canton. You don't have to be a 1 or 2 seed to be great.

The Raiders might as well of not even shown up and I didn't expect the Chiefs to lose to the Chargers.

Coughlin got fired. All I'm saying is Steelers fans need to stop hyping up the ole "10 win seasons" 10 wins isn't enough. It's good, not great. Need 13-14 wins.

They aren't going back to a dominant NT (Hampton) because they play nickel defense 65% of the time, they have a athletic DE in Tuitt. You're bashing the drafting of Wallace  who was a 3rd pick and he made plenty of big plays for the Steelers.

Even Tom Landry got fired! 10 wins is enough if it gets you into the playoffs. Any more than that is icing on the cake. Would you rather have a 16-0 season and lose in the SB?

well absolutely every game matters. I am just saying it don't matter who you play or when you play. if you want to win the super bowl you have to be able to travel and play when the ball is kicked off. I think we can do that. would I like to be 14-2 or 16-0, duh. we aint. we have won it as a 6 seed and and lost it as a 1. its just a number to me and I bet them too

Very true this team should of been 12-4 or 13-3. The Dallas game sticks out the most. Seeing as we went for two after the first TD and we were chasing those points the whole game. Never mind how bad we played against the Rats and still only lost 21-14. Philly just kicked our butts.

So we shall see about Miami next Sunday. Hope they got our attention from the first time we played them. This is where Tomlin needs to be a great motivator. I don't think I could handle us losing to the Dolphins. I live in Florida and have to watch Miami all the time and their always terrible. So this uprising will hopefully be put out quickly next Sunday.
