#62 Johnny Maxey DE

The Steeler DE's , both Ricardo Matthews and Stephon Tuitt are nursing injuries, Tuitt is out for today, and Matthews should play.

They brought up Johnny Maxey from the practice squad, and he and L.T. Walton figure to play a good bit.

I'm gonna key on Maxey because missing Tuitt's big self is gonna hurt come playoff time.

I'm hoping to be impressed by Maxey because we are missing Heyward already, and Tuitt has a knee, so Maxey needs to be good.

Maxey really needs to step up or it spells trouble. We can't afford to be exploited by anybodys running game, and we are going to face some darn good RB's in the playoffs. Plus, Maxey needs to get after the QB too.

I hope Maxey turns out to be a stud, we really need him to be a beast.


CB Al-Shabazz got called up too, he figures to get some playing time as well. I'm gonna watch out for these 2.

Plus the only real running Team in the AFC playoffs is Miami ....The best way to stop the run is to score the ball on O ...So my concern is for Ben,Eli,Green,Coates,Hamilton,DHB,J.J. or whoever is healthy and on the field ...

We need a #3 weapon to emerge we know AB and Bell will be fine....

 

Good for the rotation. Tuitt will be ready for the playoffs for sure. Also McCullers should see extended time.

I thought Maxey did ok today as did Big Dan and I am a guy who ha been hard on Dan all season.

 

I really wish we could shut down run games completely

 

McCullers played arguably his best game as a pro today, which was nice to see. He will be an important part of the rotation next week.

If Matthews can play, Maxey might be inactive for the playoff game though I think it would be wise to have six defensive linemen available against the Dolphins.

 

I called Big Dan out right before that HUGE sack he had. Talking with a guy in the stands I said he can just move guys if he just gets his mind set on it. Then he has that pouncing sack and the crowd went crazy!

Maxey was motoring all game. He got dinged up a bit and it slowed his lateral movement a some, but he was ready to go. I thought they subbed him out too much as sometimes he looked like he was about to make something happen, but was pulled off the field.

 

I hope Big Snack is out there listening somewhere ....and feeling dearly missed. Big Dan conjured up Snack on one play today but needs to rinse and repeat often as they say.
