All coaches are good and bad in their on way . It takes the right system the right players and the right circumstances to bring out their best ...On the flip side good coaches can be bad if things don't fit right ...

Mike is not a Football Guru he is a execution and bring the emotion guy...When his players execute and play with emotion then they play good if they don't they play bad ...Some Coaches are students of the game and approach games with multiple plans and can adapt on the fly..This is not Coach T..The bottom line is the type of Coach that he is he depends on his players more than a Guru Coach does..Does that make him less of a Coach ? I don't believe it does just more prone to up and down play depending on the players attitude and mental state...

With that said as we get more talent in key positions the positive attitude should get better and better and that should lead to more consistent play and even dominance over inferior Teams ...

Tell me what John Madden did in his 10 year coaching stint that got him in the hall of fame??? He had two 8-8 seasons and won 1 superbowl, I think his popularity as an announcer had more to do with his selection than his coaching career, theres several coaches with more super bowl wins out there that have never been nominated.......

Agree, its nice to get a look into what goes on with the HC, no matter how brief, just because no one knows what goes on within the organization.

There is a piece out there on a week in the life of John Harbaugh, it goes through his entire week and it is a busy week to say the least. I imagine every HC's routine is jammed up.

It was nice to get some details on Tomlins involvement but can't say I am surprised in the least.

Two 8-8 seasons? Given that 1978 was the first time the NFL played 16 regular-season games and it was his last year (9-7) your statistic is impossible. He had over a .750 winning percentage, made the playoffs in eight of 10 years, losing in the championship game six of those years. I'd say that's pretty good.

Did you see the series on Arizona's season? Where Arians basically took the piss out of Harbaugh - he said something like "I don't understand coaches sleeping in the office, football isn't that complicated."

There have been multiple coaches hospitalized in the last few years. Kubiak, BA, Bowles, John Fox, and more have been hospitalized and I guarantee you it's because of the stress of their jobs. Just my theory. I think it was Jim Schwarz that said he was working over 80 hours a week and said when he coached under Bill in Cleveland that they spent multiple nights sleeping in their offices.

I saw it. I think it was on his Football Life episode or something. BA actually wound up hospitalized this year though. The job definitely takes its toll.

This reads like a layman who loves sci fi movies trying to articulate the difference between Kip Thorn's work on black holes, and Michio Kaiku's theory of the multi verse.
