Keeping my streak alive

ok, friends, here's a look at the rest of my week.

I'm heading to Amsterdam tomorrow for a one half day "work conference" - the other 2 1/2 days are "open" and will be there on New Years Eve. I am traveling with a female companion, too.


All well and good- except I arrive back in the USA on Sunday. My plane is supposed to touch down at 12:10 pm EST on Sunday. If all goes as planned, I'll keep my Steelers streak alive. My streak means that I've seen or heard at least part of every Steelers game since the last game of the 1999 season. Now, I realize many of you have longer ones, but I don't live in the western PA area either.

My plan is to listen to the game on satellite radio on my drive home- this I will break to her on our ride to Newark tomorrow. I hope my flight is not delayed so I can keep this streak alive. I have the Sunday ticket app on my phone as well.

Granted, it's as good a game to miss as any this century, but I don't miss Steelers football games. Ever. No matter what.

but it worked out as I found a Steelers bar in Paris.

yeah, it's pretty ridiculous, but this is what happens when you often work with student travel (although this particular conference is student free).

I hate to gloat- really- but I haven't paid full price for a plane ticket since I was last in the Burgh in the summer of 2011. This is my 5th Euro flight freebie since then (Italy, England, France, Ireland - where they love the Rooneys btw- were the others.)

 

Can you get us some freebies the next time steelers r in London?

 

Ok, I clicked your image and one of the tabs was "Mike Tomlin at Fenway Park" This bothers we more then him being a Cowboys fan. I'm really starting to question our coach.

I can't think of anything that could happen in Amsterdam over 2 1/2 days that could possibly cause you to miss the game, or a flight, or 2 1/2 days...

OK Jimmy. Make sure you do some window shopping in Amsterdam. I had a girls name tattooed on my lower left forearm. She sent me a dear John when I was in Vietnam. After window shopping in Amsterdam one day, I stopped in a tattoo parlor. Had a Marine Corps Emblem done over it. The wings now cover that name. My wife told me it didn't bother her but, it bothered me. That Tattoo cost me $8.00 best 8 bucks I ever spent

Home in time to catch the whole game- first on SiriusXM and then watching the end on my direct TV app.
