Rewatching the Christmas Day manhandling!!! Steelers and Ratbirds game for the Division crown, that I DVR'ed. All I can say is WOW!!!! great game. If we clean a few things up like Bens timing with his receivers quit over throwing them and the turn overs. We can and will go all the way!!! This team has really glued together nicely and is playing playoff type Football the secondary is leaps and bounds beyond improved. I would not want to see this team in the playoffs. Let's Go Steelers get #7 Baby!!!:yeehaw:

Biggest advantage they have this year versus last two years is they have Ben, Bell, and Brown all healthy.

Next advantage is they don't have to play a hated divisional rival in the wildcard round. Those games tend to beat them up as well.

I'll also add that the OL looks good. We have had some stability and both pass pro and run blocking is improved. We just don't need any injuries. You hear me Pouncey?

Clearly that's a prerequisite. I doubt the team will buying 200 hotel rooms in Houston at this moment.

Boy I will tell ya what, this defense has really turned it around and I hope it continues. Also like someone else pointed out too is the oline is playing the best I have seen. I really like what I saw in Ben, Bell and AB in the 4th quarter. After a horrible 3rd quarter they changed the game plan and went to quick easy throws to build Ben back up, and put the ball in AB's hands. When it is all said and done this offense can outscore anyone and score on anyone. This run we are on has been amazing but I have a feeling it is just the start of something..........

    This is true.

Dallas v Pats in the SuperBowl, MEGA ratings so the NFL can say 'see we are still as popular as ever', Brady wins MVP then punches Goodell in the face and retires on the podium

Not so fast,i'd be willing to bet ol' Roger goes to bed every night praying some team knocks out the Pats. You really think he wants to hand Tom,Bill,or Robert the trophy this year ..No way in hell he wants that ..

I think if we can get to the AFC Championship and it's NE we can beat them. Over the years Tomlin and the Steelers have done pretty well when they meet a team in the playoffs that they lost to during the regular season. I like our chances if we play NE and of course playing Dallas (who we lost to as well during regular season) in the Superbowl, would be awesome!

I meant Cowboys... look at all the ref handouts, then 5 primetime games in a row. Ridiculous ratings. When they win ratings and merchandise will explode.

    Trust me on this.

We will win next year and be on top though

We beat Dallas if the D didnt lose the game after Bens go ahead TD, I read some where since 2007 ben has scored the go ahead TD in the final drive 9 times only to have the defense blow it...

The biggest difference between this team and every team since our last SB appearance is the fact that our offense is balanced. We can run all day long and win. Our O-line is kicking ass and we have the best RB in football. Tomlin's offenses have all been pass first and mix in a run to keep them off balanced. Take a look at our winning streak. We started beating teams when we starting riding Bell. Look at his rushing numbers during the win streak. Our defense also magically got better when we started running with gusto. TOP is important.

We definitely have the makings of a legit SB contender. We just need to keep doing what got us here and that wasn't by airing it out. We should be able to beat the Dolphins into submission by pounding the ball down their throats. The only teams with a worse rush defense then the Dolphins are the Browns and 49ers. The crazy thing is it would not shock me to see us try to pass our way to victory. Tomlin's game plans against weaker opponents kind be mind blowing at times.

yup pretty much. I said we have been doing better with a power run offense. I said it 2 years ago to make this offense around bell and people laughed at me.

The only reason we let the Raven's stay in that game was because we insisted on passing. In the 1st quarter it was pretty obvious that our O-line and Bell dominated the LOS. We should have stuck with it and mixed in Deangelo. When we forced the passing the turnovers, penalties, and incompletions kept them in it. I couldn't believe we came out the 2nd half throwing. If it wasn't Ben throwing terrible INT's it was incomplete passes that should have been picked off. We either punted or turned it over when we forced the passing. Once we focused on running again we drove the field made it a 3 point defect. To end the game Ben does what he does best and drove the field but it was our running game that really won that game. Ben is a better QB when he's moving around a little and playing up tempo. We need to let Ben run the no huddle more and ride Bell to the SB.

I can be as critical of Ben as anyone, but the Steelers will need his arm to both get to and win the SB. Ben has been a little off on several throws in the last handful of games. But I'm confident he will make the necessary adjustments to protect the ball. Every team the Steelers play should definitely get a healthy dose of Bell, but the fact that they have to worry about Brown and at least one other receiver in the secondary keeps the opposing defense from stacking the box and stifling run attempts.

Tomlin has built a good team with a balanced, dynamic offense. For that offense to be effective, it must display both its balance and its dynamism (via Bell, Ben and Brown) as a real threat. I'm a fan of seeing the ground game, but it will have to be balanced with good play through the air by Ben and the WRs.
