Conspiracy?? How is it possible for the refs not to see that obvious face mask?? They obviously saw it but just don't wanna be fair. AB almost got his head detached. It spun around similar to that girl in the Exorcist. I know we ultimately won the game on that play, but this is frustrating ...totally unacceptable

This is the second week that AB has been blatantly facemasked without a call...both with refs standing right there.

They missed it because it was a Ravens player on a Steelers player.

They will issue a statement about it this week and will then proceed to "correct" it by fining James Harrison. Also it is entirely quite possible that the reason they missed it is because they were so busy looking at AB's shoes to make sure they met the exact specs because if they didn't it would be a terrible injustice. It all makes sense now.

I hope they saved paper and wrote the fine and "random" drug test on the same piece.

I do know that if Antonio hadn't stretched the ball, I wouldn't have won our work fantasy football championship.

It would have been very close. I'm glad we never had to find out.

I don't even know if AB said anything about it but if that had been Beckham he would be writing a thesis about it. Even if it wasn't facemask. I've never seen a wr that complains to the refs as much as him.

If I were the Steelers, I would absolutely register a scathing complaint with the league offices. I'd do it in such a way that if AB or any of the receivers get breathed on in the playoffs the officials will be reaching for their flags! This is getting ridiculous especially when you couple those no calls with some of the pathetic phantom calls on the Steelers like the Shazier penalty yesterday!

Is that like when the lawyer strenuously objected in a few good men?

"I have a complaint commissioner Goodell!” “Overruled” “No, no. It is a scathing complaint” “Oh! You have a scathing complaint. Then I’ll take some time and reconsider"

Sternly worded letters are often very helpful. Declaration of Independence, Ninety-Five Theses, Magna Carta, Emancipation Proclamation.... well you get the point. LOL! I think what the league needs is a sternly worded letter. It will be revolutionary!

So was that an all or nothing play, if he gets tackled short time clock probably goes to zero?

Personally, I think they get a spike in with probably 1-2 seconds left. Then it comes down to go for tie or win and that scares me because I think Tomlin goes for win.

Sidenote - It was good to see AB realize this was a big game and put his head down and run guys over instead of running out of bounds like he normally does. Then this play of course.

I really would like to see Bell lower his shoulder a little more too but I know Franco was known for getting out of bounds as well so I can totally deal with it. I'm just hooked on watching him plow over human bodies and want to see it as much as possible.

On one of the shows I was watching, they were saying that AB knew the situation and so he went low and as far as the ravens defensive players trying to tackle him they were trying to hold him up to take as much time as they could off the clock, the irony of course is that holding him up instead of taking him to the ground is what allowed him to get the ball across the line

If it was not called a TD by the side judge, do you think they would have stopped the clock for a review since it was under 2 mins? Do they review close plays at the goal line automatically or would it have to be called a TD by at least one official? If the clock would stop for a review, then they would have had time to spike it. If no review, did we have any TOs left?, I was too wound up to notice.

edit: just saw replay on nfl.com and they did not have any TOs left.

I thought about this weeks ago. However, I'm not sure it applies. The refs are horrendous in every game. They're even horrendous in Steelers games with calls that hurt the Steelers' opponents. The refs appeared to be smoking something in both of the games against the Bengals. I even talked to Bengals fans about it. The Bengals fans noticed the calls by the officials were chitty on both sides, at different times.

I'm sure the league didn't appreciated Tomlin's comments. Because he partially threw New York under the bus, also. Even if they refs are getting back at the Steelers, then they are hiding well with all the chitty calls every other team is suffering.

It's bad. Really bad. So bad it's making it hard to watch the games.

I have greatly reduced my NFL watching this year due to the officiating. I'm definitely not getting the Sunday ticket next year. It's just a bad product right now imo.
