Big picture the right thing to do is probably limit the play of the starters.
If I was going to this game I'd be a little upset though.
People spend a lot of money on these games. It's probably going to be a glorified preseason game.

Yea after last year you can't afford to have guys like AB and Bell out and Ben not at 100 percent. Don't risk it for a meaningless game against one of the worst teams in NFL history. These guys won't be rusty they will be fine and good to go come wildcard weekend. Guys like Tuitt and maybe even Ladarius Green if he continues to feel better will be ready to for the playoffs. I do like though what guys like Jesse and Grimble bring to the table at the tight end position.

    I agree Hammer.

They have a bye week and some want to risk Ben to make sure he gets into a rhythm? He should sit period. Yes he tossed a couple of head scratchers yesterday and personally I felt he was throwing the game away, but, he rebounded and drove this team to a win. He is not going to get any better playing against the clowns. Ben is Ben. The Defense didn't help much either.

Ben, Bell, Brown, Green, Coates, Tuitt, Timmons, Harrison should all sit as well as some of the O Line. I feel they can beat the pathetic clowns with Laundry.

IDK guys,i say screw it and bench most of em ..Don't even suit up ..
Rhythm is relative ,,4 teams won't be playing next weekends playoff games ,,doubt they are worried about their rhythm. This is our bye week.

Given the opportunity to rest guys in a meaningless game vs. putting them in harms way one more time before the playoffs start,IDK,, seems like a no brainer to me ..

Things happen in this league ,look at the Raiders and Dolphins ,,could very well be us next week ..
You never know and hindsight is 20/20 ,so lets just forget about looking back on this upcoming weekend, next weekend and say damn why did we start them, and just look forward to the Dolphins ..

Plus root for the Texans like crazy ,,it could happen they are at Houston !

Have the big three, DeCastro and Pouncey on for a series or two then give them rest.

As much as I am worried about Ben and the others getting injured... he really needs those reps. Has been shaky if we are not accounting for the final quarter yesterday.

I'd definitely sit Bell since DWill is ready. Toussaint starter and DWill back up. Slowly work DWill back into the game. They should already be game planning for the Dolphins. I'd do one drive with the starters on what they want to do to the Dolphins then I'd make all receivers/starters that are sitting ride the bike the whole game. If enough bikes make them all do it. No point in sitting on sidelines use the time to keep your condition up. Can still do your routine and after game prep, sore but didn't take the big bumps and bruises. Then in the 4th with 2 minutes. Browns defense is tired. Have the starters get 1 more series. Maybe 2 min drill but things they want to do to the Dolphins. Hopefully get some good mojo going into the playoffs. That's the ideal scenario for me but I didn't go to the School of Coach T.

Ben, Brown, Bell should not even be in the stadium for next week's game. Ben needs to rest the knee more than he needs reps at this point. Bell will be suiting up for his first playoff game in two weeks, don't jeapordize that. AB is our most valuable resource with a banged up stable of WRs. Also sit Tuitt, Green, Shazier, and Pouncey.
Steelers should be able to win riding Laundry and DWill. Allow DHB to kick the rust off, get backup OL and DL work in the 2nd half just in case.

Steelers have the opportunity to go into the playoffs as healthy as they have been in quite a while, which is an exciting prospect.

Don't worry about Green. He's the new Deuce. He won't disappoint. He'll be back in his sweats in no time.

Remember when the colts were way ahead of the rest of the league? They rested their starters and got beat in the Divisional game
Ply them and Coach will pull them as he sees fit

We are to banged up , we didn't show great rhythm yesterday so missing a game can't make it any worse...Rest all the studs and all primary bu's ...Ben,AB,Bell,Williams,Eli and DHB for sure...

I think Landry, D Will and a Brown-less WR corp should play this final week. I don't see the need for risk and "get into a rhythm" should overcome the potential loss of any of those players.

I assume you're joking about starters playing the first series and last 2 minutes, meanwhile riding bikes on the sidelines.

I dont care who they play as long as they beat the Browns. I bet a friend of mine $100 after the Dallas game that they Steelers would win out the rest of the reg season..... 1 game to go!!!

I don't agree that a 13 season, 3 SB appearance QB needs reps in a meaningless game. His consistency doesn't carry over from week to week as it is, and he's been hurt most of this season, and the last 10 seasons. He needs the rest, he shouldn't (won't) even suit up.

If we had a first round bye, I'd be ok with playing key players for a good part of the game. However, after two straight post seasons with key injuries I'd rather sit key guys. I'd still give the key guys a solid dose of first team practice reps, but they can do the Duce thing on game day.

I would have, at minimum, the following players inactive: Ben, AB, Bell, Shazier, Tuitt. I'd have as many of our starters as possible get limited snaps, and would start substituting liberally in the 2nd quarter. Obviously when you have fewer than 10 O linemen on the roster, some of those guys will need to be out there the whole game. Otherwise we should be able to get backups most of the reps.

I wouldn't go as far to say Don't play 1 starter.. Truly, I think you get All of our starters, except the Big 3, a quarter to a half to play. Go out, get some reps in, and get out. Then let Jones and Williams get in and finish off the Browns. I just don't think you can let the starters play over a half or anything less than that. Yes we want them healthy, but the reps will be appreciated for sure..

Yeah but that Colts team took the last two weeks of the Regular season off, because they had everything wrapped up plus they had the bye week of playoffs.
They had like 3 weeks of rust which was too much.
Steelers did capitalize on it big early, which was the main difference of that game.

A little different for Steelers, they will not have a bye week for the playoffs. That why I think you play the main guys a series or two, and start pulling them out.

According to Tomlin sounds like, the triple B's along with Pouncey will sit the Browns game.
