if we win today and loose next week, are we still locked into the #3 seed? Or with a Texans win next week would they move into #3?

I used the Playoff Machine on the Mother Ship site. With your scenario along with all seeds lower than the Steelers all winning in the final week.

Most likely the Steelers will be playing the Dolphins.

I would love to play the Dolphins, I don't care how ugly that game was earlier this year. We are a completely different team and we will prove it.

Pitt will essentially have their bye week against the Browns....the same as Pats and Raiders having a bye since they will be vying for 1 & 2 seeds in final week.
I believe Pats lock up 1 seed with a 1pm win....the Raiders game at 4 would then be meaningless and they'd have 2 wk bye for starters.

For the well-being of Steeler nation, it's very important that the Raiders win the #2 seed. We would rather play them in Oakland than KC in KC ...trust me

Yea I agree you want to face McGloyn and the Raiders instead of KC at Arrowhead. I think the Chiefs have a decent shot of beating the Pats if they should meet.

    I agree.

It all comes down to OAK now. But I don't think they'll beat DEN in Denver next week. And I can't see KC losing to SD. Most likely we'll have to go to KC if we win in the Wilcard round. But OAK winning would give us a realistic chance at hosting the AFC Championship game. It has to work out this way or we're most likely screwed. What are the chances we win in Arrowhead and then in Foxboro? Not very good.

    Thats now a reallity:

Miami will clinch a playoff berth with a win over the Bills on Christmas Eve plus a Broncos loss or tie to the Chiefs the next night. The Dolphins also can clinch a berth in Week 16 with a tie, losses by the Broncos and Ravens, and either a Titans loss or tie or a Texans loss or tie. They also will clinch a playoff berth by winning out. Miami closes with the Patriots at home in Week 17, and New England might have secured the No. 1 seed by then.

Easy answer: Pittsburgh earned the third spot over Houston based on strength of victory tiebreaker:

    ABC News:

The entire AFC playoff field is set: New England, Oakland, Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Houston and Miami.

The Steelers will be the No. 3 seed in the AFC and host the No. 6 seed during wild-card weekend on either Jan. 7 or 8. Pittsburgh earned the third spot over Houston based on strength of victory tiebreaker, heady territory considering it was 4-5 after falling to Dallas on Nov. 13. As New Year's nears, the Steelers haven't lost again.

    Steelers will get the phins.
KC will beat the Texans easily.
Granted the raiders win the west.

Steelers will get raiders. KC will go to foxboro.

Steelers could have a home game afc championship game, it's not out of the cards, or unrealistic.

Oakland has to beat Denver or KC has to lose at SD. If one or the other happens the Raiders are the 2 seed. If Kansas City should lose and the Dolphins beat New England the Chiefs will be the 6 seed and the Pats could drop to the 2 seed if Oakland beats Denver. So still a lot of possibilities out there.

Any chance the Broncos lay down for the Raiders because of KC appearing to run it up on them last night?

You really believe a team is going to conspire to intentionally lose to spite another?

Normally no, but would have really believed that a team up 17 points with under 2 minutes to go puts a 350 lb DL in to throw a TD pass?
