    Thrilled we won, but...

Was it the right call to run a play? Had AB not scored, do you think we would have had enough time to stop the clock? I'm not sure.

And if we were unable to stop the clock, would Steeler Nation be blaming Tomlin?

Just curious as to your thoughts.

We probably lose. We may have been able to clock it and get one play, but we would have been lucky to do so.

you gotta hope the refs call the facemark and put 2 seconds back on clock.

I think the clock would have stopped one way or another for a review. Would have given them enough time to get on the ball and spike it.

I'd question the 3rd and two play to Brown in the third that killed a drive more than this one

You should never question going to AB in single Coverage for a TD

Fans are too dense, they question every unsuccessful play in a vacuum

I was schocked they didn't call facemack. It was so blatant. Horrible referring there.

I didn't say it was a wrong play, I said I'd I would question it before the game winning one. Yes if you have single coverage with Brown that is a money play but I would also weigh down and distance and the situation you are in before making it as well.

I think we'd be blaming the officials for missing the facemask if that play cost the Steelers the game.

You only get AB in single coverage outside, with no help over the top, when it's 3rd and short and the defense is playing run. I'll take that play every time.

what's the success rate? This is why I don't gamble, just way too conservative, I take the high percentage, low risk plays and get the 1st down and keep the chains moving.

It's a good thing we didn't have to find out.

I'm an aggressive gambler, but even I would run the ball to get the 1st down. It's not like there's downside to running the ball with a guy like Bell

As for the game winning play, hey, it worked. With that said, I think in that situation Ben needs to be told that the only place he is allowed to throw is in the end zone or throw it away and kick a FG. If Brown didn't fight to get across, there's a good chance the game is over. That's just too risky and I hope we don't see a play like that again. Hell of a finish to the game though.

Did he get in when Foster him him? Looked like he never hit the ground and while Foster didn't get him over the goal line, he stuck the ball over again.

    Aggression wins

Regardless, if they ran it into an 8 man front and got stopped everyone e would be crying about the stupidity of running in to an 8 man front.

Winning a football game is about making enough of the right decisions, and executing on this decisions. The 3rd and 2 pass to AB was the correct call

Yeah it's unreal that they didn't call that. Man I will say this though. That was a pulse pounding finish and it has been a while since I've felt like our games with them have taken years off my life. Nice to feel that feeling again. SO great to watch Gumby walking off the field knowing he still has to play one more game that means nothing. Nice to see other guys stepping up tonight but it still came down to our stars. Vintage Ben in the end was awesome to see again. Dang what a Christmas! Also a shoutout to Timmons. I've really enjoyed watching him recently.

Three missed facemasks in the endzone or on the goal line in the past two weeks. Not good.

I'm happy with the play call and with going for the TD. Get the ball in your playmakers hands. Plus, I would NOT want to mess with Tucker in OT, he is automatic.

I didn't get to turn the game on until the 3rd Qtr, the very first play I saw was a Ben pick
I go about working and the very next play I saw, another Ben pick, I was like no way that just happened.

It's all good though, I was able to watch the entire game winning drive :steelflag:

So their only options were a run or an 18-yard pass? I think they had a lot more options than that. And of all those options, the 18-yard pass was the last option to go with, no matter the coverage.

Another terrible move by the refs tonight was when they allowed a free shot at Boz on the xp and didn't blow it dead. It was OBBBBVIOUS that he was offsides. Stevie Wonder could have told you that. Guarantee you if a guy had a free shot like that at Brady the refs would be sounding storm sirens like in tornado alley to blow that thing dead.

No but he does pooch though. LOL! I was just saying if they were unabated to him they'd call in the Guard to protect him. Kickers should get the same treatment. Remember about a month ago when the thug Sherman took an incredibly cheap shot on the Bills kicker on MNF?
