IMHO, Hines was a better football player, AB is the better receiver.

    That's stupid

Would you take a lesser talented QB over Ben, if that's QB was perceived a better leader?

    Anquan Boldin over Randy Moss?

    well obviously
you have only a few years of Steeler football in your portfolio and probably understand a lot less of the sport as a whole
and it is even more obvious you're not a bigger Steeler fan than 90 % of the posters on this board
    so
    yeah
enjoy your no ring non MVP cry when the ball does not come my way ,show up your qb ,do a lil jig in the endzone to hurt the team AB

i see a mirror under the mistletoe
    head that way

Well, AB just performed a "Ward" on that catch, plow through 3 players while being facemasked, and stretching for the GW TD. Gonna have to start this poll over.

AB is just that much better than Hines was at WR. You couldn't match Hines' heart and drive for the game, and he was one of my favorite Steelers ever...: but AB is a different level. Period. I take AB. Love hem both tho. They would've been killer together in their primes

AB has more big play ability, but Ward was such a leader on the field and someone who brought toughness to this team. How many WR's can say they threw a block and busted a LB's jaw?

At the end of his career I might say AB, but right now, Ward gets my pick. But can you really go wrong with either of them?

Brown is the best receiver in the game. Ward was never in that discussion in his career.

Ward had a couple years were he could have been arguably the best WR in football. He had a run of 4 seasons were he was just awesome and capped off a HOF career with a SB MVP. Maybe he didn't lead the league in yards but he was near the top in catches more than once and his blocking ability was 2nd to none for WR's. (ever) He rarely if ever dropped a ball and he always ran the right routes.

Brown is a very different player because of speed and ball skills but I think he made more mental mistakes. I can think of more games were Ward was the difference vs Brown. I suspect that will change in a couple seasons of Brown pilling on the stats.

Since Ward has left the game the league has changed some also. The passing #'s are up. I think if Ward was playing now during his peak he'd have more yards. Brown has also racked up plenty of garbage yards IMO. Slicing hairs here now but at the moment I think Ward is the better football player. When I think of clutch, show up big when you need him most, I think of Ward. Brown was big today though...It's a tough call now... I do think Brown will end up being the better WR when his career is over. But hard to compare the two because they are so different.

Each are great in their own way as were Swann and Stallworth. I'm not big on taking one over the other because of a Super Bowl ring since it is a team game. Imagine Louis Lipps playing with Ben instead of all the scrub Steelers QB's of his era. He would be right up there with Brown and Hines.

Hines Ward was constantly double teamed and even triple teamed all throughout his career. He played on many teams where he was the only actual WR on the team and still put up great numbers. If the team was more of a passing team like they are now with the offensive line they have now, Ward would have even better numbers.

I love Brown, but I will always go with Ward. Too valuable as a blocker, leader, tough guy, and I think he should be in the conversation for having the best hands of anyone ever. He wasn't quick like Brown is, but his routes were excellent and he would run over people.

    Super Bowl Rings count

    Ward: 2
    Brown: 0

    Enough said.

Antonio Brown = Larry Fitzgerald= Calvin Johnson... great WRs with no rings.

    Ward = HOF

When you look up the word BADASS in the dictionary.... it's Hines Ward's smiling face in a Pittsburgh Steelers helmet.
