    just became paved in gold.

    Tne Raiders have lost Carr.
    The Titans have lost Mariotta.
The Dolphins have likely lost Tannehill.
The Texans don't have a QB.

    This means, likely seeds...

    1. New England
    2. Oakland
    3. Pittsburgh
    4. Houston
    5. KC
    6. Miami

Steelers would need to beat the Tannehill-less Dolphins at home, and then a Carr-less Raiders team.

It's there for the taking. Let's see if this band of underachievers can kick the door in.

And it is POSSIBLE that KC rolls through Houston and then upsets the Pats.

If we don't beat the Rats then we won't even be going to the post season...Savage is a upgrade for Houston...KC is a very solid team and that Hill guy is way to fast for us to cover ...Miami knows they must run and have a RB with 3 200 yard games in one season..You can't count a Team doing that out either ...

The Raiders are hurting so I would agree with that 1 ,but the others are still going to be hard to beat...

A couple of omissions from your plan

    1. KC could still get the #2. With the Raiders losing Carr as you mentioned, if KC wins tomorrow and next week and the Carr-less Raiders lose, KC is the #2.

    2. Granted the Steelers crushed KC earlier this year, but if you're going to point to history as a predictor, then the Steelers have to beat Baltimore at home tomorrow. Should be able to do that, but they've lost 9 of the last 12 to Baltimore.

    3. Tannehill wasn't the reason the Steelers were crushed in Miami earlier this year (and they were terrible before Ben was hurt that day).

They have to beat the Ravens! That's the biggest game on the schedule right now! Beat the Ravens! Then we'll discuss play-off scenarios!

Right, First things first. Tomorrow is game number 6 in our running the table. Things will fall into shape as long as we take care of our business.

The first sentence of your post is the only thing relevant to any of this.

Agreed. There is also always the chance that the Raiders win against Denver, even without Carr, and the Dolphins beat the Patriots in Miami, which makes them #1.

I did have a feeling all year that the Steelers were going to end up in Oakland renewing that long ago playoff rivalry, and if it does happen, then it will be on much better terms than before today.

I was trying to imply this with the "kick the door in" statement.

Beat the Ravens. We don't look like a juggernaut even though we won 5 straight

I agree we have to just worry about tomorrow first, but it's fun to look at all the possibilities. I also find it very possible that KC could beat the pats. It sure does stink for the raiders because Carr is a class act and will be a perennial pro bowler for years to come, but it does cut us a break.

You're right, a loss won't technically eliminate the Steelers. But I don't want to get into a scenario of "team A has to beat team B and team C has to tie team D and Jupiter has to line up with Mars" for the Steelers to make the playoffs, do you? And if we lose to the freaking Ratturds again tomorrow, we don't deserve to be in the post season!

Knowing that this game mean absolutely everything, I really really hope the Steelers show up with a sense of urgency tomorrow. They didn't show up in Baltimore, everyone on offense led by Big Ben were extremely inept, all this coming off a bye-week, didn't convert a 1st down & start playing til mid-4th quarter, wtf?? All of a sudden the Ravens now own us or are we scared of them??

Every prison in Cali must be on high alert right now since that is a large segment of their fan base.

Really tough luck though, first the Immaculate Reception, then the "tucka rule" and now this.

Believe what you want, Rosie. From my perspective, we won't deserve it! But...hope it's a moot point!

It's not about believing, it's about facts.
Thankfully your perspective doesn't decide who makes the playoffs! The teams that deserve to make the playoffs are the ones that qualify for them.

We lose today and the Rats lose next week.
We beat the Browns next week and we're division champs.
That's not the way I want it to go down, but it's also a very likely and easily obtainable scenario.

If we blow this one to the Rats and Tomlin gets out-coached by his arch-nemesis, Hairball, once again. If we come out flat, uninspired and unprepared like we have in most games with the Rats of late, then SCREW THE PLAYOFFS as far as I'm concerned!

But again, I hope this is all a moot point and the Steelers go out and take care of business today like I believe that you and I both think they will.
