That was as close to 2 battering rams trying to knock themselves out as you will ever see in the NFL.

Why was burfict allowed back into the game?

He has now self reported a concussion. Well, no kidding. He has a long history of them as well. He was walking off the field in a state of confusion and being aggressive to his own medical personnel. That should have told them right there that he should not have been allowed to enter the game again.

If the NFL really cared about player safety then they sure didn't stand behind it at all by letting Vontez continue to play.

BTW - I loved the hit.

Yeah I'm actually glad they don't really care about "player safety" because if it shortens this idiot's career then I am perfectly fine with that. The dude is a scumbag. Period. Bonus fact: So is PacMan Jones.

To a point. I agree, however if this guy becomes a raging lunatic (more so than he already is) he will end up either really harming some people or himself extremely badly and it will fall directly on the NFL just like the hundred of other concussion problems. There will be multi million dollar law suits galore.

After that hit on Burdshiat you could see he was having difficulty walking. He did not know whether to shiat or go blind. Not even sure he knew he was in a game and then to come back in 3rd quarter? pulllleeez

I also suspect that DeCastro at least "got his bell rung" and probably should have at least been pulled off the field to check. These guys are competitors, and are now aware that if they show any obvious signs of a head injury (i.e. grabbing their head with hands) the spotters will see it and possibly call for them to be removed. It looked to me like DD started to put his hand to his head after the hit, but then thought better of it because he knew he'd then be pulled.

Apparently their is no one on the Bengals staff, from the coaches to the doctors to the trainers, who have any control of the players* on that team.

LOL!!! I just hope it didn't hurt DeCastro in the process. Also since this thread seems to be getting some traffic right now I'd just like to point out that Chuck Noll's A Football Life is on NFLN right now. I'm watching. Obviously.

It looked to me like DD was having trouble with his right hand/arm.

I'd love to see something like a Lambert/Harris situation where someone sends a little stronger message to Burfict.

edit: For some reason the video won't play when linked, so you have to click to go to YouTube. The Lambert/Harris clip starts at 0:36.

Really would have sucked had he injured someone after being allowed back in the game when he had no business playing anymore.

Only good thing about it was he wasn't his usual disruptive self, the guy usually seems to be involved with every play. Maybe his being out there hurt them more.

Love the new avatar TTF! :lolol:

I still think that is as brutal of a head to head collision that I have ever seen. Don't know how they were both allowed back into the game.

Too bad JACKED UP doesnt exist anymore!

DD hates this clown, and on the bunghole board they are complaining about DD stomping birdbrains leg while he was on the ground, on the video DD goes into the circle of players and it looks like he made a stomping motion but you cant see him stomping anyone in particular, he probably did stomp him but it's hard to see and if he did more power to him but he needs to not let this turd trip his fuze in games next year, but he does need to stand his ground with this dirt bag......

Didn't DD cause Burfict of spitting in his face 2 years ago. Someone spits in my face I'm going out of my way to destroy hem every chance I get for the rest of my career.

Burfict went low first--presumably to take out DD's knees, because Burfict wasn't yet in a position to make a play on Bell.

This is what I thought the minute that I saw it. Burfict was going at his knees, Decastro saw it and was able to get low quickly enough to protect himself.
