These 2 point conversions really drive me nuts. The Steelers are 3 of 9 in successful 2 point conversions this year. One thing I am bothered by is nearly every one of them has been a pass play. I'm not sure of the exact number but would probably say it's at least 7 of those 9 were thru the air. Somebody else my know but I can't find it.

The day they chased the 2 points during the Dallas game it was thru the air every time and each one of them failed.

What is wrong with getting Nix in there and telling Bell to recognize where the hole will be before the snap even occurs?

Surely we can get 3 yards with our O line run game. Heck, Bell is the best back in the league right now for the least amount of negative plays. If we would just pound it in then I believe we would be up around 70% successful for those 2 points.

I absolutely hate the 2 point pass as it has a very low success rate down there anyways.

Honestly I think the whole mentality of going for the 2 points originated from the 30 points a game idea that they had going into the season.

If we chase 2 points against the Rats all day like we did against Dallas, I just may need to go to an after Christmas sale for a new TV cause I'm afraid some present might end up going thru it. Use the 2 point conversion when we have to, not because we want to.

I agree that mixing in some run would be a good thing in the situation but i am thinking even tomlin realizes t it cost us against dallas and we can't give up points against the ravens

I had to roll my eyes when they mentioned the 30 ppg comment haley made during the cincy game. When will haley learn - "annual summer pipe dream".

I agree 100%. Last year was a different story as our percentage was much, much higher, but this year, the play calling is unacceptable. We have the best RB in the league and you're telling me Haley won't let him punch it in once? The game vs the Cowgirls really crossed the line for me because if we kick extra points, or even run 1-2 of those extra points, we win the game.

Idk I dont mind all the 2 point tries. I wish we would have made more of them, but that's the risk you take. Some of them may have been at the wrong time, but if they make the conversion then it was the right call regardless haha

One point on the Dallas game: a lot of folks talk about the 4 failed 2 pointers as if all 4 were aggressive decisions. The first 2 were, but for 3rd and 4th, the score of the game at the time clearly dictated going for 2, not 1.

As for the play selection for 2's, yeah, it hasn't looked good.

At this point of the season where every game and play call are crucial for our playoff push, I'd rather not go for 2 unless we are behind and need it. Don't try to be cute. Plus Boz has been money as of late.

The only recent 2 point conversion I cared about was the one that the stupid eagles called trying to win the game against the crows. Stupid, stupid, stupid... but, typical eagles.

I thought it was only 2 yards on a 2 pt conversion

what is worse is they went for two earlier and failed which put them in that situation. had they not they would have kicked the extra point for the win

I don't have a real problem with 2 points, but if you think your gonna be successful against one of the stout Defenses in the NFL...you may come up short. Best bet get the 1 point and move on, because that 1 point you might need to secure a W. One important point is if you have tried 2 previous attempts and can't get it done...then let it go man!!! Take the extra point!!!

The only reason they did that is cause their season was already over. I would have done the same thing if I were the coach.

You're right. I must get my eyes checked again soon. Even more reason to run it instead of the low percentage pass plays.

I want to know for the life of me why every NFL coach wants to throw out of the shotgun when you need 2 yards to basically score on a 2 point try.

No one every runs the ball. They always throw it, Tomlin included.

You got one of the best NFL lines and running backs. Run it, you might actually catch a team off guard.

It drives me crazy when the situation doesn't call for it but I just have one question...when did it become legal to just do whatever you want to our WRs in the end zone? Did I miss a rule change or something? Maybe we wouldn't be so up in arms about it if we could of converted a few more....but it seems the refs just let everything go....I don't get it...

I've always assumed it was the five yard contact rule that made it difficult to call, but agree it's frustrating to watch.

Thats why you use pick plays and bigger WR's or even Wildcat from time to time ...I would actually have a set with a Bell AB read option with Ben out wide,,this would make them keep more DB'S in and good luck making the stop..

They were by rights not eliminated yet. They are now. It was a college move, not a professional coaches call. Dumb...

I'm personally sick of going for 2 just to go for 2. This is obviously not some watershed football moment that Tomlin thought it would be. The odds are against us converting it this year. Although, honestly, the Dallas game has a lot to do with that percentage. Regardless, the odds are still MUCH higher of you getting 1 point than they are of you getting 2.

We should go for 2 on every XP

Running against 2 safeties in the box... Not the same as just gaining 3 yards from mid field.

I actually didn't mind the play call. I liked the idea of going for the win like the Eagles did. Besides, do you REALLY want to go into overtime against Baltimore who has the best kicker in the league?

Play the percentages... Until it's a necessity. Dallas was a loss on ridiculous decisions the first couple times... Then it turned into gambling fever to save the life savings account... Heroin addicts call it chasing the dragon I believe hahahahhaha
