Local affiliate carrying it in LA. Another $50 into the Direct TV Widows and Orphans Fund. Perhaps when the Chargers move back to LA - DTV Sunday Ticket will be a sound investment.

Frankly, I'm surprised the Browns - Bills game is getting that much coverage.

I guess technically Chiefs/Titans is a matchup of two division leaders, but KOIN (the local affiliate in Portland, OR) seems obsessed with wanting to show the Titans because Marcus Mariota is the QB....News flash! He ain't a DUCK anymore! And the Ducks are in EUGENE ANYWAY!!!!!

I get it! I wish you luck. Last I heard the City of SD was trying to lure them into a 50 year lease at the Murph for $1 a year. Really? The Murph???? Bad enough the Rams are playing in South Central LA at the Coliseum for several more years. I think the Raiders moving to Vegas is a cool idea - anything to get them out of Oakland so Steeler fans could watch a game without getting murdered by the San Quentin Alumni.

Good thing the Steelers are winning the AFC North. If this was an 8-8 season... Titans would probably be getting televised in my area.

I have the Sunday ticket, I have tried to go without it before and it sucked. I live in Bills/Jets tv area so like this week I would have been stuck with the Bills-Clowns. I will never tell anyone how they should spend their hard earned money but for me it is the Sunday ticket all day long. I usually call and ask for a break and get the ticket with the redzone for $150. I can justify that to watch my Steelers every week. I have read on some message boards that if you call and complain they get it for free so that even better.

When you call in to complain what do you complain about? They have me by the pants in this situation either pay what they are asking or don't watch at home and travel to BWW and spend 40 a weekend watching eating and drinking. Pretty sure I am paying full rate not even sure what that is.

Just tell them you're calling to cancel - period. Then hush up and just listen to all the deals they begin throwing your way. I've done it 3 years in a row now - don't have the huevos to wait for the "free" deal - I usually cave at half-price from what they want to renew me at. I also tell them that each past year that more than half of the games I wanted to watch on DTV were blacked out due to local broadcasting rules and it's not worth it anymore. So just wait until they mention a figure that is worth it. It will probably take 15 minutes of saying no before they will actually accept that and cancel you.

Yeah that is on Fox. That's why I specified CBS in my original post.

Normal Sunday football is a game at noon on fox and CBS and then one more game on either of those stations at 3. Followed by a Sunday night game.
I'm being deprived of a normal Sunday football day by losing a game.
How can they do that in a major city?
No television company ever wants to lose New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Philadelphia, Miami, Houston, or San Francisco.

Well the last time I called and asked for the Sunday ticket department then I just said to the lady is there a deal you can give me cause I would love the ticket but just can't afford full price. The lady I talked to started chatting with me on who I like and we small talked a bit and she looked up my account and offered me the ticket with redzone and 6 months of show time. I learned a while back from and older wise man who told me "you get more bees with honey" so I think the small talk really helped. She told me she was a Cowboys fans and we had a good laugh over that. I think you have to be nice and also if you get nothing call another day you will get a different person.

If all else fails ask for "customer retention" and tell them you would like to know when you contract is up. They will ask why you are wondering and just tell them you are tired of the high monthly payments and you have a much lower seal from dish tv. I told them that I didn't think it was fair that I was a longtime loyal customer and new DTV customers have better equipment then me and get the Ticket for free and pay less a month then me. I was mean or nasty and I even said I didn't want to leave and that this was all about the $$$. They offered me the Genie and 3 mini's for an upgrade, the ticket for free, 1 yr free movie channels and 1 year free HD TV. If you try this I would do it right before the football season so you get that for free.........good luck next time :smiley1:
