It MUST be Christmas!!!

How else could you explain having a 4-game losing streak mid-season, yet having the opportunity in the last 3 weeks of the season (back to back to back) to:

1) Mathematically eliminate a hated division rival

2) Possibly mathematically eliminate an even MORE hated division rival - and CERTAINLY eliminate them from division contention..... and

3) Send the (historically) most hated of ALL division rivals to an 0-16 record

All while securing a #3 seed and still having the POSSIBILITY of a #2 seed....

It MUST be Christmas!!!!! It's gonna be fun to watch!

Yeah, looks like SOMEONE needs to watch that Scrooge movie....I recommend the Albert Finney version as being more upbeat (except maybe that weird hell scene where the ghost of Christmas yet to come drags him down).....

 

Just looking at all we did wrong in that game and all the mistakes that Ben has been making,who is going to step up as a #2 WR? I am not trying to be scrooge , but the old coach in me says best to focus on the wrong and get to cleaning that up if they do then all things are possible..If they don't then all things are possible as well in the wrong direction...I just pray the players understand that ....

 

I read that Tomlin is 13-2 and in December since the 2014 Season.

No question Steelers play the best ball in December. Looking forward to Christmas day but wont be watching the game.

 

I think Green is stepping up as the #2 albeit from a different position. Think I read he has only 1 less target in the past couple games in comparison to AB84

edit: last 3 weeks AB had 24 targets and Green 20, then add in Bell's targets and the #2 WR is by committee I guess.

 

I like what Green is bringing , but still not helping get the coverage off of AB yet ...We need a WR to catch 6 to 10 balls and free up AB ..Or catch 1 or 2 big ones over the top ...As of right now AB is basically being triple Teamed ...

 

It's time for Ben to light the rest of the division up. If he gets on a hit streak, look out! I'm hoping he's got the bad games out of his system and will lock up a good spot for the playoffs.

 

I'm not able to look at re-runs but I don't remember many (any?) plays where I saw them trying to use LG to open up AB... many of LG's receptions seem to be long and/or iso plays. I expected to see more underneath/crossing plays from LG if they were trying to open up AB for more down field stuff. There's no way LG is fast enough for plays to develop properly otherwise (I would think)

 

Yep on most of Green's balls they use AB to draw coverage away from him, if Green can start hurting them more often that may get a man away from AB more often...

Looks like a few more presents may be under the tree....DWill , Hargrave and Finney all practicing fully today... It will be quite a luxury having a healthy DWill to spell Bell and give the Ben - gals another problem on D.

HAHA.. Nope.. Christmas with family and it wont be televised here where I live. If I was in the comfort of my own home things would be different. I would be watching
