That's why I said it was his best win in 5 years. That was the last time we won a meaningful game against a very good team. Too bad we followed that up by losing in the WildCard round to Tim Tebow.

It would be nice to win out, but I don't think we have to. The Rats should lose this week, so that gives us an allowable lose as long as we win on Christmas day. With how we are playing I think we should be able to manage.

We have more than a good chance, it's pretty much a given IMO.

Not likely. Baltimore has beat Pittsburgh three out of the last four. Nothing is guaranteed in the NFL; playoff hopes especially.

That is your opinion and it's wrong IMO. If you feel that way you shouldn't bet it. I feel the other way so I will bet it. And thanks for letting me know nothing is guaranteed, I've only been following football for a little over 55 years LOL

Hold on...I was told the season was over 6/5/4 weeks ago. Now Im hearing this team is not the worst collection of professional football players ever. Wow...its almost like giving up in Oct, firing the coaching staff, cutting or trading all the players and starting over isnt the best thing to do. Im so confused.

Hold on a minute. To start out, an opinion cannot be wrong if one disagrees. Just because a fact has been pointed out does not automatically discredit the reality of the situation; the AFC North is just as much in control of Baltimore's destiny as it is Pittsburgh's.

However, most importantly, you stated these final games are a given. Nothing is given nor guaranteed in this league. If you have been watching far longer than I have, then your comment is quite the dichotomy in retrospect towards your knowledge of the game. Considering you have been watching for over 55 years, to state that Pittsburgh has this season in the bag due to just one victory against a quality opponent is quite silly.

To end this, I never stated Pittsburgh cannot win out. I did state however beating Baltimore will be quite the challenge. On that note, this also includes Buffalo and Cincinnati as well in spite of our recent victories.

In the end I would love for us to win out, but for me to simply have a vote of confidence Pittsburgh after one game against a quality team and state they can win out is very premature.

American Gridiron Football truly is the pinnacle of fans being "as fickle as the autumn weather". Sometimes euphoria reaches levels to Super Bowl hopes and other times it signals a cataclysmic end.

For me? I ultimately wait to pass judgement due to the NFL being a 16 game sport and not a one and done winner take all unless the playoffs are accounted for.

You are missing the point. I said they will win out in MY opinion, I really don't care what your opinion is or what anyone else's is. I only care what my opinion is on this. Again, in case you didn't understand, I said it was a given in My opinion not yours or anyone else. I could care less if you agree or share my opinion. In my eyes they will win out period. We will see what happens over the next 4 weeks.

    i know
i have an ol fogey ass raven fan friend who doesn't let me forget it

    but
just like the bengals winning 5 str8 against the ravens
    all streaks will end

fingers crossed we win the division

it is not the Ravens game i'm worried about as much as the others

Nor was I. That needed to be pointed out due to the fact that Baltimore's destiny is as in its own control as Pittsburgh.

Game I am worried about? Cincinnati for sure. That game sticks out far too much for my liking.

I'm most worried about playing the Ravens a week after the upstanding, clean playing Bengals do their best to take out our players' knees and take off our players' heads. I mean, as clean as the Bengals play, such a thing is not likely, but accidents happen...

It's all good though, because one of them might film a half assed apology while they're getting into their car. It's difficult to criticise that kind of class, it really is.

I would rather win out, then they won't have to rely on tiebreakers.

Very nice win! Now they need to follow it with a win on the road. Buffalo is no push over by any means.

But Miami is a bigger deal than the Jets or Bills since the 6 seed would be a 2nd way in and the Steelers lose that HTH tiebreaker. Need Denver to drop to 10-6 too so that Miami game in neutralized.

Considering their road performances (don't tell me Indy - w/ Luck that's a different game) - I'm worried about both Buffalo and Cincy.

Hi. Bubble burster here. The reality is if we'd "buttoned up" our performance in the early season games we wouldn't have to be talking about winning out just to get into the playoffs this year. If we're lucky, maybe we can lose one more game and sneak in IF other teams cooperate. The FACT of the matter is that we sit here in December on the outside looking in thanks to some miserable early and mid-season performances by players and coaches alike!

But hey, I guess I should just be thankful that the team many prognosticators had to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl this year is still "in the hunt" after a miserable 4 game losing streak.

Let the hate mongering begin, lol.

Pretty sure 10-6 will get us in too. We just have to win on Christmas day.
