Said it last week Davis and Burns looking good for rookies and they should only get better. Burns also had a good game today.

I also like how he's made some plays at the line vs the running game...dare I say like Tro....never mind, not going there...

Today especially, his line play making open field tackles on the TE left open... May have been his fault but he made the play. Burns tackling for loss on dump offs and screens. The knock was tackling, they're buttoning that up

 

I have to say that, among the last three drafts, 2016 has the potential to be pretty special.



Seriously, have not seen such play of rookies from this team since I started watching in 2008.

Davis started the season being poor at open field tackling. I have seen nice improvement here. In particular, one behind the line wrap around tackle of the running back for no gain.

 

Having him just focused on one position has really helped him out for sure.


Definitely a more aggressive, violent Byron Jones as I see it.

i think the smart coaching decision was to let him focus on one position. or the pessimist could look at is correcting the mistake of trying to play him everywhere (corner, nickel, safety)

 

I am up in the air there. I have seen too many int's like that put up 6 or get us into field goal range. Plus I think getting that first one is important. He did make a nice return and that illegal block was kind of a questionable call. i guess maybe I like that sort of aggressive play.

 

Remind me again who was pimping Davis to the Steelers in the second round, oh wait that was me .
