Being that the Steelers were like 5-17 against .500 or below teams on the road, I'll take the wins, even if it was against the Browns and Colts with a back up QB.

Hopefully, we get a little more healthy with 10 days rest, maybe something to build on with the defense.

Rookies (Burns, Davis and Hargrave) are improving... but they have their work cut out for them vs. Eli Manning, OBJ and Cruz.

All of those teams have better D's than the Steelers. Defense is important in January. With that said... the future is bright for the Steelers D as long as Burns and Davis don't pull a "Cortez Allen" and Hargrave keeps improving. Plus... Dupree seems to be getting back in game shape... awesome.

I personally would not put the Raiders in that group and their weakness is the defense.

I hope Ben, Bell and AB can hang at least 30 points on them in Oakland when the playoffs roll around... or it's gonna be a long, sad, depressing offseason.

Careful Mac, the name calling police might not like your realist post...

I feel good about the win as well and thought the team took strides as I wrote, but yes, this game could have swung the other way. The good thing is that back to back wins hopefully can keep them focused and winning. The schedule is favorable.

I know... I have Crabtree on my fantasy team and he's been my best, most dependable WR. I also have Julio Jones and Doug Baldwin.

I see the AFC playing out like this.

    1. Patriots
    2. Oakland
    3. Texans
    4. Steelers
    5. Denver
    6. Chiefs

I normally don't like downer posts after a win, but IMHO each sentence of this is correct.

Yeah, with penalties they kept them on the field, but they stopped them at the goal line twice when it counted and they grabbed two picks, I thought they played well and they will only get better before they face anyone in the playoffs, right now their task is to win this division, we can cross the playoff bridge when it comes, till then the goal is to win enough games to get there, your putting the cart before the horse......

Yeah, it's worrisome because we won by 21 to a back-up. Hilton dropped a guaranteed touchdown. 2 goal line stops. Missed field goal. Usually comes down to dropped catches by the other team, sadly.

At this point we just need wins and to stay as healthy as possible! This isn't college football where style points actually count in a way! We beat the Browns and the Colts....I'll gladly take it and so will the Steelers! We just need wins at this point, period and end of story!!

I do love that L. Green is becoming more of a weapon in the passing game, especially downfield. I love Heath, one of my favorites but he wasn't a major threat in the passing game, especially downfield and with the WR's either on IR or hurt, we need this from Green!!!!

Speaking of early Xmas gifts and Black Friday fun-

This is out, although it is moving very slowly.
    http://www.espn.com/nfl/playoffs/machine

Have fun- I am fond of a particular scenario in which the Steelers win their next 3- and the 3rd win over the Bengals clinches the division in week 15.

While you may be right TODAY...all that matters is who is championship caliber come January! If we stay as healthy as possible....if the defense can get it together and....if the offense can put 24-30 points a game (lots of if's I know) well then I like our chances!!! Yes, I drink black and gold koolaid and at least for the last two games, it has tasted much better from the previous four games!! I'll take any and ALL wins at this point regardless of the score! Win the division, get into the tournament and take your shot....that's all we can ask for at this point!!!

As if Coates didnt drop passes all over the field, and you all act like a backup cant win a game, how about they couldnt stop AB from scoring 3 TDs, it's football people, you all act as though, if luck had played we wouldnt have won, yet luck has 5 losses on his resume and has been mediocre this year, so quit trying to find a reason why we should have lost, enjoy this win for what it is and lets get ready for the giants, and if we win dont start telling us we got lucky and if so and so didnt drop a TD pass we would have lost the game.......

With my projections, it all comes down to our Christmas home matchup with the Ravens for the division at 10-6, and the #3 seed hosting Denver.

Coates shouldn't even be playing and getting healthy for a run. I look at the big picture. I'm just worried about winning Super Bowls not games against back-ups. All I took away from yesterday was some rookies are playing well which is promising and Green showed what he's capable of.

Your basing this on their records now, but untill the 16th game gets played these records will change and there have been several teams who made it to the superbowl with 9-7 records and one even won it, it's all about whos hot and whos not these next 5 games as well as there have been 4 15-1 teams who lost in the playoffs and never made it to the SB the steelers being 1 of those 4, and one 16-0 team who lost in the SB to a 9-7 team, so it's too soon to predict who are locks to make it in, even our history tells us the winning teams with glossy records dont always make it in because we have played two different 9-7 teams in the superbowl..........

I'm hoping the Ravens totally tank it before then- and it's possible- with Cincy/NE/Miami/Philly on their plate- that they could go 1-3.

I even concocted a variant in which we go 11-5 and end up the two seed.

Name another team to achieve perfection besides the 1972 Miami Dolphins.

The Raiders have a good offense and a bad defense, similar to the Steelers
