I know he's been hurt, but he played alot on special teams. Why is he not playing at WR?
I understand the weather today wasn't great for the passing game, but still....

I read something a week or so ago that said that he's still got finger issues, but is good to go on STs.

I'm guessing the hand is still bad.

Have to concur with Elvis and Furnace. Hand issues are really crippling him right now.

A short week is not going to help either.

I am more worried about Justin Gilbert. After the Kansas City game game has been absent on defense in terms of his snap count.

4 fractured fingers is what I read somewhere.

Those special teams tackles have to be harder on the fingers than catching a bar?

I see it the opposite as you. Makes perfect sense that he's playing special teams but not WR with messed up hand/fingers.

It may be more so of getting Coates to find some confidence considering injuries can have that effect. If not that, I am not sure.

Incredible he is still even attempting to tackle.

Can affect tackling though if the angles being taken are not proper in fundamentals.

Yes, but can tackle in various ways, harder to get around not using your hands when catching.

Did not state you could not. I am just hopeful that Sammie takes proper angles to the ball with his injury.

I agree, catching a football thrown by an NFL QB is hard on the hands fingers andust be very painful if already broken

What if we just play with pure tight ends and backs with brown only as WR. Lol

Uh oh tomlin might see this

I think they can protect the fingers better for ST than for catching a football effectively.

remember it's not just the fractures. He had a gash in the webbing as well. That's probably affecting how he can open his hands to make catches and squeezing the ball. I'm surprised no one has gotten a picture of his hands by now. Probably, better though as they tend to keep that on the hush hush.

On the deep throw he missed in the endzone a few weeks ago (can't remember the exact game and time or I'd screen grab it), a close up showed he had his hands curled too much to make that catch cleanly.

Ah, yes I'll look it up when I get home on GamePass.

Still looked like he was curling his hands more trying for that catch like he wasn't able to stretch his hands fully. I just remember it looking weird.
