Wow now that is a strange sight on the transaction list today. Wheaton along with Heyward done, Bud is back and Richardson promoted from the PS as well. Very menacing vibrations are soon to be all around this is not a good message board for psychedelic drugs.

Wheaton has played his last down as a Steelers player.

    Heyward expected.

    Can't wait for Bud :herewego:

Agree that Wheaton is done here. I remember when he was drafted I couldn't figure out what we saw in him, but I figured I'd just trust our FO. Guess they can miss on WRs after all.

Seems to me with what I'm reading on this board, fire Tomlin, this guy is no good, this one was a bad pick, etc. Get rid of Colbert, working for this franchise has to be the greatest job on earth, you have a job for life. Even if you don't know what you are doing. Sad

Steelers win the next two games in 5 days and all of sudden.... Tomlin and Colbert will be geniuses again.

Nope they'll still be a mediocre GM and a mediocre coach.

I didn't know who he was but thought he could be a good player for us after brushing up on him.

    What turned you off?

I read Dupree was fighting this week in practice, can't wait to see him bring that fire tomorrow.

I thought of him as a dime a dozen system receiver in college. Good at the college level, but lacking any standout traits that would make him be anything more than a depth guy at the pro level. I expected him to top out at what we've seen.

I thought for a second that he may turn the corner after the Seattle game last season, but just as fast as he broke out, he went back to what we became accustomed to

I wonder if Wheaton's shoulder injury was "IR worthy" or if it was more lets get rid of his roster spot so we can see how Hamilton does for the rest of the year. Since it seems they aren't going to look to retain MW next year.

Probably a bit of both. If he was going to miss another couple of weeks, and then have to be worked back into game shape/speed, there's just not enough upside to justify keeping him on the active 53. I personally think both Rogers and Hamilton offer more upside than Wheaton even if he's healthy. At least each of those guys have certain noteworthy traits.

Eli Rogers wasn't even Teddy Bridgewater's first go to guy at Louisville but Rodgers was hurt a lot his senior year I was surprised to see him play this well this early.

Hell, you want to go that route.

Martavis wasn't even the star receiver at Clemson with Watkins there! I absolutely thought he was a steal where they got him!

Back on topic there's no way they could risk putting Hamilton on the PS again after what he's shown so far and teams winding down looking to get ready for next year already.

Was watching the game with family and could not focus on it as much as I usually do. Anyway, what was Dupree's snap count? I don't remember him being involved too much but I could have missed it.

Yeah I was wondering where he was as well, I just checked and Dupree had 1 snap count. Also some other notes V. Williams had 2, Golden had 4 and McCullers was down to 16. Walton had 22 and Mathews had 20 in for Heyward, I thought Mathews show a little spark so I am hoping to see more of him as well. Link:
