He's been getting called out in the media and apparently he was called out by Tomlin For stepping out of bounds at the end of the Dallas game instead of trying to keep the play alive.

I just watched an interview video from Ben and he said AB was the only guy on that side of field and he was surrounded buy a bunch of Defenders. Ben then said you have no idea unless you have been in that situation. It's easy to talk.

Just listened to Haley's weekly interview.
He said they talked with AB and let him know you can't let the game end like that.

I wondered why he had no teammates near enough to lateral to.

In an ideal world he stops, lobs the ball backwards across the field and hopes Bell scoops it up, then exploits the space.

But in an ideal world we'd already be up by 60.

In a perfect world instead of Ben crossing the Marino spike the ball play off his bucket list(seems like he tries it every year) perhaps they run a bit more time off the clock before scoring and then AB doesn't need to recreate the Music City miracle play. THis of course opens the line of thought what happens if they don't get in and score on that possession but lets not go there.

While they could have run more time off the clock you also just have to get the touchdown. Also 42 secs you figure the defense could hold them from driving 70 yards.

They didn't need 70 yards just field goal range to win.

True but if the steelers would've plugged the gap on that winning TD run the cowboys would have kicked a FG from the 32. Bailey is a good kicker but kickers have been doing funky things in clutch time this yr. The penalties didnt help either.

And the went the 70 yds with 15 secs to spare. Gave Ben two plays. Maybe the Cowboys should have used THEIR time better.

Even if AB would've thrown the ball backwards instead of just running out of bounds.

I was a little miffed that he just ran out of bounds but 1) was there anyone to even lateral to?
And 2) Do we really want AB getting blown up while he laterals for a very unlikely TD outcome anyway?

As far as them taking more time off the clock before scoring, I had no idea that TD's were forgone conclusions. You score when you can.

Agreed 100% with scoring when you can, but you also need to manage the clock. We used a TO way too early and Ben was rushing too much considering how much time was on the clock. I'm not saying fall short of the end zone when you can get in, but use the clock wisely.

That's why I said in a perfect world lol. I mean seriously how many times has thaT play worked? Ben tries it at least once every season and usually it's flagged because someone moved presnap or defends it. I was shocked it worked and stood up. otherwise they are taking more time off the clock and trying other ways to get the TD.

What's wrong with the coaches getting after a player who did not execute to the plan?

I thought last year A.B was the best receiver in football. I've changed my tune: AJ, ODB, Julio Jones are better.

I think the idea is he basically gave up. He could've pitched it over his shoulder before he stepped out of bounds and still avoided a big hit. Whether or not any teammates are around IMO is irrelevant. Could have kept the play alive and given us a very slim chance of a miracle. The outcome of the game most likely would have been the same, but he took the opportunity to find out away when he stepped out.
The fact that Tomlin had to talk to him about it and Haley talked about him needing to understand the situation tells me he messed up.

AB disappointed me running out of bounds the way he did. You would think that such a competitor would fight for every inch in that situation by at least cutting back across the field no matter how many defenders. So many times big plays develop out of nothing and that could have been one of those chances but we'll never know.

He was pushed out of bounds. Could have lateraled to who? After the Elliot TD it was over. The Defense again cost the game. Not Brown...
