For those who went, I had a couple of questions. If you don't mind, could you answer? Thanks.

    1) Where there a lot of Dallas fans there? How many, what percent would you say?

    2) Was this the normal amount the Cowboys bring? If not, what is? Was this more or less than normal?

    3) How did the turnout of Cowboys fans compare to when other teams are in PIT?
Compared to Baltimore Buffalo, New England, Giants, Jets, Iggles, Browns, Bears, Bengals, Packers...where did the Cowboys rank?

On TV, at least my impression, there seemed to be a l of Cowboy fans. I can't remember the last time it sounded so loud when the road team made a big play.

I'm getting the impression we're part of your Thesis. Your questions repeatedly are very analytical. But putting aside all seriousness, I agree 100% with your observations. Other than the commercial break shots from the Incline, I would have thought the game was in Dallas with both the crowd noise and the number of times they kept showing Jerry Jones hi-fiving up in his luxury box.

Dont worry Dallas will collapse at the end of season and ol'Jerry will once again be crying.

I flew out for the game (ticket prices never came down -- an indication we had a strong visiting presence willing to drive up the prices). There were a lot of Cowboys fans (heck I even went with 2 of them), but I don't think it was more than 10-15%. Steelers fans were louder than I'd heard in awhile, although Renegade was horribly timed (I blame the loss for that.....just kidding....but it was still poorly timed. They played it right after the Steelers scored with about 7:30 or so left but BEFORE the kickoff....it had died down a bit by the time the Cowboys drive started).

It was as well represented a visiting presence as I remember seeing in my 20 or so home games. The fans I sat around were pretty respectful and thought (obviously) it was a great game. Objectively, it was a very heart-pounding game. I'm just tired of our crappy percentage in heart-pounding games (and, lately, non heart-pounding games).

I think their fans still expected to win after we took the 30-29 lead and the Steelers fans, though excited, sensed the death knell coming after we missed yet another 2-point conversion. That's a problem. I couldn't help but think of the end of Super Bowl X when Noll opted not to punt late in the game (fearing a kicking disaster) and gave the Cowboys the ball on the 40 yard line with 1:20 or something fully expecting his defense would hold them. Guess quite a bit can change in 41 years.....

I never noticed the crowd noise but I had the sound down after repeatedly retching. I suffered from an ear ailment called buckaikmanitis. Symptoms include lop-sidedness and a desire to create concrete art using your forehead.

SNR was about 20 seconds ahead of the TV broadcast in my area. Not sure if that's the norm anywhere else.

I would imagine, that the effect that Renegade has on the current group of players does not compare to how jack up it got the past Steelers players. I started a thread about this very topic. The lyrics don't relate to this current group other than the vets like Ben, Harrison, Timmons etc.

Something was weird about this game. Tickets weren't really available like the normal tickets during the on sale dates in June.

I heard something like Cowboys somehow have there own ticket sale system that is not affiliated with Ticketmaster (Jerry Jones trying to be special). Not sure if that affected it?

Basically what I'm saying is that I believe somehow Cowboys fans got these tickets early. I have a hard time believing in the last 3 weeks Steelers fans decided to sell their tickets form some extra Christmas money.

From TV it definitely looked like a lot of Cowboys fans.

I'm sick of seeing yellow seats when I watch on TV or go to the 1 game a year I go to. I get tickets are expensive and it may be better and more comfortable at home, but its still a shame. I think commentators at Steelers games are forced to use the word passionate when describing fans

Tickets always start high and come down, never happened this time. I paid more than I liked and more than I did for playoff tickets. There were a lot of empty seats, I think bc of the prices. Heck standing room tickets were going for $300. But I had a great time, I yelled so much I can hardly talk today. Great game despite the loss, heart breaking but great game and glad I went.

As far as fans, there were a lot of Cowgirl fans there. We had 4 on 1 side and 3 of the other.

From what I saw, they were more of a douche bag that the ratbird fans. I am pretty tolerate in crowds with bumping and stuff but one doesnt know how close he come to me knocking the h*ll out him. "excuse me" or "sorry" and things are cool. This guy almost knocked my nachos out of my hand, and acting like he was a king of something, not cool at all. :nono:

But there were some pretty cool ones there as well. I talked some mild smack to some and they were good sports.

But it was a record crowd according to the announcement, over 67000 people.

How can the game be deemed "sold out" with so many empty seats? (Honest question -- I'm clueless.)

The tickets are sold but they didn't "re-sell" on ticketmaster or wherever.

I also assuming "standing room only" boosted the actual attendance bc there were a bunch of those for $200 for several weeks.

I don't know.... but I know the Huskers have the record for the most home games sold out for college. I have contributed in that regard. No, its not the SEC and not the horse shoe. But if I was closer to da'burgh, I would love to pit my skills on the pre-game celebration front. I can't help it if the whiners living in Pittsburgh now are afraid to go out into the cold. I leave the pontoon boat in the lake until at least Thanksgiving so I can take everyone out on a last spin around the lake....Sometimes I have to chip the ice in front of the boat
