Nfl.com is reporting that Ben is pushing hard to play

Yeah, Thorn, Ben said if it was the playoffs, he'd be out there. I'm sure he's pushing for the Ravens game.

I hope not. Ravens-Steelers games are as physical as you are going to get; records being a non factor.

Having Ben out there increases his chances of getting hurt exponetionally as opposed to playing the Cowboys in addition to obtaining another week of healing.

He always lobbies to rush back and it's not been a good thing a handful of times. Let him heal. Cam can sit again too... Need him healthier

Just sit Ben the rest of the season. Don't want to take a chance on getting him hurt.

A loss here could be the difference between making or not making the playoffs. They very well may need to win the division to make it.

Can't be afraid of getting hurt. Playing the wrong sport.

If he's cleared to play, play.

    WTF
What's with worrying about getting hurt? It's football. It's a violent sport. I remember last year or the year before there were posts to keep Ben out of the Ravens game because they were meanies and poor Bennie might get hurt.
WTF: Wednesday, Thursday , Friday. Just in case you thought otherwise.

I am thinking it was after this happened. Seriously though we need him for the rest of the season. If there is an appreciably higher chance of re-injury he should sit.

    I agree 100%
If doc says he's good then he's good. If not then he waits.

Agreed. I'm not suggesting adding a higher degree of injury potential. But the game is played with risk at every position. If the docs say play, then play. Sit, then sit.

Yeah, pretty sure if there was a 1% chance he could re-injure or make it worse they would not let him play. I think a year or two after Ben retires, it is really gonna sink in with everyone what a warrior this guy was.

Why is he hurt so often when we play the Ravens? There is a conspiracy theory here.

I believe you may have misunderstood what I was getting at.

If Ben is too injured to play then why risk the possibility of something worse?

If he is healthy enough then let him.

There is a world of difference between being medically cleared and being football ready. No one is questioning Ben's man card but I don't want a repeat of the Niners game 5 years ago where he says he can play and Tomlin played him even though he couldn't move and the Niners blitzed all game long.

I also hate this crap, will he play won't he play so instead of focusing on getting Landry a great game plan and getting everyone ready to execute it they are splitting time maybe getting ready for Ben, making a game plan should he be ready to go. Tomlin has declared guys out at the start of the week before so make a decision no freaking supposed head games with the Ravens.

I agree whole heartedly based off that 9er game a nod a handful of others... I know he's a warrior, no one else in pads plays through injury or comes back from injury quite like him... If there is a highly likened suspicion that he could really reinsure himself then let him sit. I tend to think these guys get to BS themselves through protocol and Ben appears to have done it quite a bit in his career.

Guess I'll trust the staff and hope for the best.

i'd have to say start landry and dress ben if he is able. getting cam back and gilbert back should help on either side of the ball. AB being healthy is a biggy and also if green is ready. the raisins will have to try and figure out what to cover on defense with bell, AB and green on the field. this alone should slow down the blitzing LB'ers. cam will help on defense with JJ picking it up lately. he makes tuitt and JJ better. hopefully golden is healed more than he was last game too. we got this one i believe.

What's the status on Coates? I gotta think the cut is healed and it's been almost four weeks on the break. Is his cast off or coming off soon? Or is he another few weeks until that hand is good?

I would have to think this team would know how to take care of a $100,000,000 investment. If the team believes Ben is ready to go then I'm sure he is. He could be 100% healed, go out Sunday, and get hurt again. Still doesn't mean he shouldn't have played. Now, if his leg is hanging off at the knee maybe they should reconsider.
