If I am Ben, as asinine as this sounds, sit out and wait for the Dallas game instead.

Ben generally is not great when returning from injury anyway. Add the fact that this is a rival game.. and the physical level of play will he ramped up a notch.

I'd use #7 for a series or two, to work off his rust. Then switch to Jones the rest of the way.

Big Ben trying to fulfill his tough guy image while simultaneously reinjuring his knee due to coming back prematurely, making it even worse than before

    You heard it here first

Wait another week. We can beat Baltimore with Landry if the line gives him time to throw. I think. If Ben re injures himself cause the knee is not 100% healed, another season down the tubes.

The start of this season I was encouraged by the mobility of Ben and his weight loss. I prefer and feel as though he is better when he is mobile. After this surgery I rather doubt he will be well enough to be as mobile as I like to see. That said he may be coming back too early . Unless he is fully healed.

Ben is always rusty for the first game back. It doesn't matter if he comes back for the Ravens or Cowboys... unless those teams lay an egg, a loss is inevitable. Truth is... Steelers aren't much better currently with Ben in the lineup.

I know the Ravens are going to go straight for his knee, but I am SO happy he is coming back!

Average 9-7 team is what I've been saying since Eagles game. It will probably come to fruition. I predicted 4-3 at the bye... and I was right about that.

Yup but it's all good I'll still bleed black and gold. Honestly we need a losing season. Tomlin is happy with mediocrity

I think Ben could wake up at the hotel on Sunday morning, hop in a wheel chair, go down to breakfast. Come back, hobble to the elevator on crutches. Go down, grab a cane to board the bus. Hobble into the stadium, take the cart to the field, then say he's ready to go at the coin toss.

He always rushes back from injury and many times it's not for the betterment of the team. This will be no different and against a hated rival.

Would not be surprised to see him re-injure the knee when we need him most down the stretch run.

I'd like to see him suit up but sit this one out. I think Landry should be given the start. Have Ben come in only if Jones struggles early.

If there is any chance or doing more damage to the knee from routine play then no way should he be given the green light at all. Rather see Mettenberg in there.

Heck, we will probably lose every game from here on out. The team will get so depressed that it will affect next season. Realistically, I can see us going 0-16 for the next couple of seasons, unless, we draft an all decade cornerback, linebacker, d-lineman, o-lineman, back up wide receiver and a running back that can run for 100 yards each time he touches the ball so we can rest Bell once in a while. Problem is we will draft all these guys and Ben will have missed his window. Guess I might just become a Browns fan.

There's ALWAYS that chance, whether returning from injury, dinged up, or healthy.

And I dunno, but maybe the consensus (rather than just his opinion) is that the offense is better with a somewhat mobility-impaired Ben v. the second-string QB.

Steelers will probably lose anyway... doesn't matter if Ben is playing or not. It's a road game and the Steelers are terrible on the road this year. The Ravens would have to implode.. turnovers, stupid penalties, etc, which is possible, but not likely. And yes... 4-5 is a possibility and it wouldn't surprise me. This is the best Cowboys team the Steelers have played since '08. Cowboys have players on offense capable of gashing the Steelers D like the Patriots did last week.

He doesnt even have the stiches out yet and people are talking about him starting and the rats will target that knee thats a given, better give him time to be a 100% before he's a starter, he needs to have his confidence back that his knee is fine before rushing him into a game that could cost him the rest of the season.......

Probably just some Tomlin strategery so Ratbirds don't know who is starting. Probably be Mettenberger.

Based on the initial return projection, I assume his knee was scoped. So as for stitches, we're talking about three very small incisions with just 2-3 stitches each.

I dunno how the meniscus responds. I had tissue removed years ago, and regaining range of motion was easily the biggest challenge in my recovery.
