To me it is possible. Keep in mind Glenn this incarnation of the Brady led Patriots is arguably it's weakest in the past couple of years. Add the fact that Buffalo and Miami (a lesser extent) have seen resurgence thus far and the AFC East is still New England's to rule.. but it will not be as easy as in previous years.

For Pittsburgh, this AFC North is the weakest I have ever seen since watching football in 2008. Granted, Baltimore plays Pittsburgh very tough... but I believe that when key players return, Pittsburgh is primed to do some serious damage heading into the second half of the season.

Yeah 7 games in and anything is still possible.

Indeed. The AFC is wide open for the taking right now. As it stands, New England and Pittsburgh are the heavyweights. Oakland is still getting there, who knows about Buffalo until next week and the AFC South is essentially a free pass for the final seeding.

If anything, I am more intrigued about how the South is going to play out. I am hoping the Jaguars catch it... but given their sloppy performance against the Raiders it is unlikely as this team is still a year away.

The Jags have regressed this year. They are far more than a year away. Gus Bradley probably won't make it until then

Every year you list, we struggled to make it. We backed in last year by getting help and the year before we took the division by 1/2 a game. The Ravens' kicked our ass in 2014. The only so called win we have is a choke job by the Bengals. Sure I'll gloat and rub that win in a Bengal fans face any chance I get...but you are full of **** if you think that win was earned by our players. They had us beat - period. 2 unsportsmanlike penalties by the Bengals gave us the victory. You wanna think we kicked their ass by playing better football go ahead think that. We followed that crazy game getting our asses kicked by the Broncos. Facts are facts.. we have struggled to make the playoffs and haven't really won a playoff game in 5 years. 1 and done is not success. That is failure in my book.

I'm fine that others are happy just getting in. I'm just not that kind of steeler fan. I'm spoiled. I expect playoff victories. I can understand rebuilding. I can understand not getting over the hump if you don't have a QB as QB's are the key to winning come playoff time. If you've got a franchise pro bowl QB you better win playoff games. I'm not saying I want SB wins. I'm saying win round one at least 2-3 times in 5 seasons. We lose to the worst teams in the league with regularity. That's a fact you can't dispute. When you are losing to inferior teams often that's not on the players.

I will be shocked if Bradley is not fired before the dreaded "Black Monday."

It's true we do lose to crap teams but year In year out we are usually in the hunt. 2010 sb appearance, 2011 playoff appearance, 2012-13 missed, 14 playoff appearance, 15 PO win. In 6 years that's 1 sb appearance, 3 playoffs

Tomlin said they were sacrificing yards to Blount to stop the pass anyway, why not run dime? Or use Shazier, who says he was ready but was on a pitch count from Tomlin? Asking a slow, 10-year LB to cover Edelman was brain dead. If they put a LB on AB, you'd be ridiculing BB and Patricia and calling out Tomlin detractors.

You can also attack Brady more. Ray Fittipaldo wrote a great piece in the PG about the gross ineptitude of the Steelers blitz this year. Something changed from Butler's first year, when he unleashed the dogs and the Steelers accumulated 48 sacks and 30 turnovers. They're on pace for 17 and 17 now. Someone called off the dogs for fear of giving up big plays that they're still giving up.

Every time you think our coaches are infallible, check yourself.

You've never seen someone so hungry after a loss? And it's not just a game they've lost, it's looking more and more like it was the prime of Ben's career.

If the Steelers win out and go 13-3, they still need Patriots to drop three more games. Neither of those things is remotely likely to happen.

You're clinging to the mathematical hope and ignoring everything your eyes have told you for years.

You're conveniently forgetting the defending Super Bowl champions. NE and Denver are the heavyweights.

Running dime is essentially giving up. You can't stop a power run game with 6 DBs on the field.

Again "asking" shows how little you understand these play calls. Timmons wasn't ASKED to cover Edelman, he was asked to cover a zone.

This is no different than your poor understanding of scheme when you called out the coaches for having Jesse block the edge.

All coaches are fallible and I call them out when it's deserved (54 Yd FG). You, on the other hand, don't understand the details of scheme and basically look like a clown calling out every play that goes against as a coaching mistake

If we blitz, and the result is a Timmons on Edelman, does that make Tomlin dumb or smart?

Were we supposed to play Dime or Blitz? I can't keep track.

Big part of that is because Bortles went from a career year to this poopoo year he's having. I don't follow them closely enough to know what else is wrong over there but yeah, clearly going backwards.

I'd take Gus Bradley and his system in a heartbeat... I think we have the pieces to run it.

    4-3 Over
    ----------WILL - Shazier
    5T 2Gap - Heyward
    1T 1Gap - Hargrave
    ----------MIKE - Williams
    3T 2 Gap - Tuitt
    ----------SAM - Jarvis
    LEO Edge - Dupree

    4-3 Under
    LEO Edge - Dupree
    3T 1 Gap - Hargrave
    ----------WILL - Shazier
    1T 2 Gap - Tuitt
    ----------MIKE - Williams
    5T 2Gap - Heyward
    ----------SAM - Jarvis

I like the 4-3 over/under as well and I have no doubt we have the guys to run it ....I think we can play almost any front we want to.....The problem to me is we simply don't have enough skilled players on the outside and on the back end ....I contend this is why this D plays better as the field gets shorter it's the confined space that allows the DB'S to play better ....

NE has some tough games remaining in their division, buff has beat them once already at their house, and they have to travel to buff this week, they will play the dolphins in miami where they always have a tough game, they have to face 4 tough defenses denver, seattle, ravens, rams, so I can see them finishing 11-5 at best 12-4 considering they will split with the jets in 1 of their two games, not near the power house you want them to be..........

Really we are talking about the #2 seed? Losing to the Dolphins, Ben potentially out until late Nov, and Ravens still on the schedule twice. We need to be worried about just making the playoffs at this point.

Exactly because Ben usually comes back rusty very possible he misses another game also very possible we lose that game Then I think he will be back and very possible he lays 2 eggs because of rust timing or whatever ...

What would that put our record at like 4-6 needing a lot of work just to get in...

NE will probably win out , they will smoke the Bills with Brady, they are the #1 seed already in my mind ..

Indeed I would the same. Pittsburgh's pieces are more capable to run the Seattle styled defense than Jacksonville is currently.

We shall see, not every defense left on their schedule is going to let brady sit back and pick them apart like we did.........
